OHMYGOSSIP — Shaughna Phillips has given birth.
The former ‘Love Island’ star – who took part in the sixth series of the hit ITV2 reality dating show – welcomed a baby daughter named Lucia into the world with her property developer boyfriend, Billy, on Tuesday (04.04.23) evening, weighing a healthy 8lb 8oz.
She gushed on Instagram alongside a snap of her holding the newborn in her hospital bed and another of her little bundle fast asleep: “My darling Lucia, I wish I had you sooner so I could love you longer.”
The 28-year-old reality star previously insisted the name wasn’t sentimental.
She told her followers on the app: “We’re keeping the girl’s name a secret but it’s not a sentimental name, just a name we both love.”
The ‘Real Full Monty’ star “had no idea” she was pregnant but got advice to take a test from her eyelash technician after she fell asleep in her chair.
Shaughna told OK!: “I had no idea. My only symptom was tiredness. I went for an eyelash appointment and I was falling asleep. The lady said I could be pregnant because she told me tiredness was the only symptom she had when she was pregnant. So I went home and ordered myself some pregnancy tests.”
Despite wanting a girl, Shaughna was convinced she was having a boy based on the shape of her bump.
She wrote in her column for the magazine: “I feel like it’s a boy now. I’m not entirely sure why. At the start of my pregnancy journey, I really wanted a girl – but I’m okay with having a baby boy.
I’ve seen loads of articles on how the shape of your bump can give you insight into what the gender of your baby could be, but then other places say it’s a myth. One of my friends, who has two boys, said her pregnancies were so different and she was convinced she was having a girl the second time around. Then it turned out to be a boy, which made no sense because the pregnancies were polar opposites.
“While at first I really wanted a girl, now I feel as though the gender is kind of irrelevant because I’ll be happy with either. At the end of the day, I’m going to love them no matter what.”
