OHMYGOSSIP — Amy Conachan has been “totally overwhelmed” by the positive reaction to her ‘Hollyoaks’ departure.
The 30-year-old star has thanked her fans for all their well wishes after her science teacher character Courtney Campbell departed the village, in scenes which aired on E4 on Tuesday (29.06.21)
She said: “I’ve absolutely loved being on ‘Hollyoaks’ and playing Courtney.
“I so appreciate all of your support over the last five years.
“I’ve been totally overwhelmed over the past day about all of your beautiful comments, wishing me luck and seeing how sad you are that she’s gone.
“There wasn’t one negative comment on my post or on the ‘Hollyoaks’ post they put on their Instagram, which just proves to me that ‘Hollyoaks’ fans are the best in the world.”
While Amy is “so sad” about leaving the village, she has learned a lot on the Channel 4 show and has made friends for life.
Speaking in a video on her Instagram Stories, she added: “I’m so sad it’s over, ‘Hollyoaks’ was absolutely the most special time of my life.
“It’s given me everything.
“I can go on now with confidence, having learned what I’ve learned there.
“It has also given me the best friends I could ever dream of, that will be my best friends for the rest of my life.
“That’s more than I could ever have wished to have gotten from that time.
“So thank you so much for all of your support.
“I will see you soon on something else.”
Courtney left the Hollyoaks village after deciding to take up a post as a head teacher in a school in her native Scotland.
