OHMYGOSSIP — Brian Blessed has created a new animated storybook film to encourage Brits to wear a mask.
The 84-year-old actor has joined forces with Wise Protec, the innovators of the world’s first Covid-destroying face mask, to co-write, narrate and star in a satirical story about the importance of wearing a mask.
Brian said: “Like so many others, my friends, family and my wife have been affected by the pandemic. Wearing a bloody mask is such a simple thing, but it is essential to protect ourselves and each other during this pandemic.”
With the UK in the midst of another lockdown, Brian is keen to stress the importance of wearing a mask.
And the actor thinks the new storybook film – called ‘Wear A Bloody Mask’ – is the perfect way to put that message across.
He said: “It’s absolutely baffling to me why people still don’t follow the government requirements and wear a mask – even though they know the risks of Covid-19. It’s a gigantically important message that we are looking to drive home with Wise Protec. We want to give the mask-averse a big old shake and tell them to get that mask over their mouth and nose.
“We hope we’ve done it in a way that resonates with the British sense of humour.”
Dr. James Gill, a lecturer at Warwick Medical School, also stressed the importance of wearing a high-quality face mask.
The expert said: “Masks, personal hygiene and social distancing have been championed as three huge ways that people can try to protect themselves and others from Covid-19 infections. All masks are not created equal and will therefore vary in the level of protection they afford the wearer.
“It is science that will provide the answer to the Covid-19 pandemic.”
