WORLD’S MOST DEADLY DRINK that many people consume daily

OHMYGOSSIP – Everybody that takes care of their health knows that nowadays there are thousands of products that have been excessively processed and contain harmful chemicals, preservatives and colourants that do not benefit the body at all. Digestion of such chemical compounds is very stressful for our organism.

After learning this info you will never drink soft drinks again.

Everybody knows that soft drinks and carton juices are not healthy, because they contain large amounts of sugar. Lots of sugar and glucose will cause problems such as: hypertension, obesity, heart failure, arthritis, clogging of arteries, etc. Taking this into account, it is not at all unimportant.

The most sugar has been added to Coca-Cola that is loved by so many. For example, when we consume one bottle of Coca-Cola, these processes in our organism will follow:

10 minutes later: you have received the daily amount of sugar, it has a big impact on your body
20 minutes later: the liver modifies sugar into fat
40 minutes later: glucose enters the circulation, this elevates blood pressure, pupils dilate
45 minutes later: the body starts to produce dopamine, heart rate goes up

Taking all these factors into account we can conclude that we can bring along heart failure very easily and this is very thought-provoking.

THE ONLY VEGETABLE with therapeutic properties increasing after boiling!

OHMYGOSSIP – Eating it fresh, the human organism will assimilate only 3% of the minerals and vitamins of this vegetable. Yet when you chop it and boil long enough then up to 39% of the minerals and vitamins can be assimilated. What is this vegetable?

This vegetable is carrot. More precisely, the boiled carrot.

BOILED CARROT: THE SOURCE OF BETA-CAROTENE

Carrot is a very good source of beta-carotene, hence also the characteristic bright orange colour. The rule of thumb says that the brighter orange is a fruit or a vegetable, the more beta-carotene there is in it. Beta-carotene is a very strong antioxidant, which slows down aging and protects against several illnesses, including heart disease and cancer.

WHY IS BETA-CAROTENE BENEFICIAL?

When the menu has sufficient amounts of beta-carotene, then
the risk on stroke decreases as much as 40%
it advances and supports vision
it advances liver function
it lowers the risk of cancer
it protects the heart
it advances the immune system

Besides, carrots have vitamins K, E, B1, B2, C, as well as phosphorus and folic acid.

EATING TOO MANY CARROTS

Beta-carotene may be very useful, but overconsumption of carrots can lead to some unpleasant results. Overconsumption of carrots will cause carotenosis due to which the skin will turn orange.

Fortunately this is a non-dangerous affair and will be alleviated spontaneously, there is no need for extra attention or cure, it is more of a cosmetic problem. Thus when you start eating carrots, you should know that the orange skin tone is not detrimental to your health and you could just eat a bit less carrots.

HOW to avoid autumnal depression?

OHMYGOSSIP – Autumn is the main time of the year when people become depressed. Indeed it may be depressing when it just keeps raining outside and the sky is grey, you get home from school-work all tired… every day that way. Yet there is always a way to look at it in a positive way!

1. Start thinking positive right now! There is no point just hanging around and being moody, better use your spare time to do something that gives you joy.

2. Afford yourself one day a week when you just rest – this is necessary for the organism to remove weariness. On that day do the things that you like and allow yourself something tasty.

3. Don’t overload yourself with work, think what your actual capabilities are.

8 things to do on dark autumn nights:

Read books, escape to a completely different world for a few hours. It is not rational to buy books for just a one-time read, you can borrow a bunch for free from the library. Recommendation: Very good romantic books for autumn are for example the novels “Jane Eyre” and “Wuthering Heights”.

Go to the gym. You think that you are too tired to work out? On the contrary, after the workout you will feel the new energy and will have a positive feeling. The very expensive sports clubs are not always the best, you may visit a smaller and less expensive gym or just purchase a good workout video. Recommendation: Trying out different types of dance and aerobics styles will create a positive mood.

Arrange yourself a home SPA night. Pamper yourself that one night with all the bathing salts, skin peels and skin masks. A nature friendly and good quality selection is available for example at Elisheva & Shoshana webstore. Create a calm atmosphere by lighting candles in the bathroom and listening to soft music. After that you will feel well treated and peaceful. Recommendation: Set everything ready already beforehand, so that you can fully enjoy it and later on jump straight to the warm bed.

Pamper yourself with Nordic quality cosmetics (ElishevaShoshana.com)

Watch a good movie. Be it alone or with the girls, arrange a great film night. Watch a happy and sweet movie and you will see how your mood improves. Recommendation: The best are romantic comedies and girls’ movies. For example “17 again” and “Notebook”.

Cook something. Prepare something extraordinary to eat. Browse the internet for recipes and try out something completely new. Make the meal a festive occasion, lay the table and decorate it. Recommendation: Invite your friends to come over, they would definitely be surprised and happy.

Make yourself beautiful. When you go to a birthday or another event, make yourself beautiful. Take your time to prepare the look and enjoy it. Later during the event you’ll be glowing. Recommendation: Still, do not overdo it with the makeup while getting ready!

Clean your home. When you feel like everything is so dull, make the home shine and give away the things that you are not using. It is a lot more pleasant to return home when everything is tidy.

Find joy in the little things. This may sound like a cliche, but think how lucky you are that you live here and now. Take a walk outside and enjoy the fresh autumn night. Recommendation: Smile and be friendly with others, enjoy your life, because it is beautiful!!!

HOW TO have more money? 11 Super simple money saving tips

OHMYGOSSIP – Saving can seem like a pipe dream for many of us at the best of times. But according to a 2020 Financial Literacy survey from Savvy, 51.3% of respondents pay their credit card bills on time each month. A further 41.75% of respondents also keep track of their expenses with apps.

Here are 11 things you can do to boost your chances of successfully saving money. Not only for your short-term goals, like a holiday, but long-term ones as well, like building up a home deposit:

#1. Make a budget – do not spend more than you earn!
At the heart of any savings plan is a budget. Budgeting helps you prioritise your expenditure and find a balance between spending and saving across a whole year.

By checking your credit card statements, bills, banks statements and receipts, you can work out all your regular expenses, such as your rent or home loan, transport, insurance and electricity. You then deduct these expenses from your income – your full- or part-time job or casual work, pension, government benefits, child-support payments, investments, etc.

If you’re spending more than you earn, ask yourself what you could cut out or cut back. When working out your money priorities, think about which items you need for your basic living expenses and which are extras or things you could maybe do without if you needed to save some money.

It’s advisable to update your budget at least once a year. Or more frequently if your circumstances change significantly (e.g. getting or losing a job, having a baby).

If you’re spending more than you earn, ask yourself what you could cut out or cut back.

#2. Track your spending
You can easily fall into the trap of thinking spending on big things is what gets you into trouble, when often it’s the little things that end up costing us more.

That’s why it’s important to keep track of your day-to-day spending, so you don’t live beyond your means. Your bank statement will tell you how much money is going into your bank account and how much is going out. You can then compare it with your budget to see whether you’re sticking to it or not. You can then identify areas where you can save.

Just the thought of having to track our spending can ward off impulse purchases.

#3. Do not use credit cards
Stop using credit cards!

#4. Open a savings account
By restricting access to your money, savings accounts can give you a higher interest rate than a basic transaction account.

Savings accounts are somewhere you can put some or all of your discretionary income – the amount left over after paying for personal necessities and tax – and any windfalls (e.g. tax refund). You can ward of the temptation to spend this discretionary money by setting up automatic, scheduled transfers from your main account (transaction account) to your savings account.

#5. Focus on recurring expenses
While every little bit helps, it’s your large, recurring expenses that provide the most fertile ground for boosting your savings. Go over your bank statements and look at all the things you have spent money on over the past year. Then see how much money you can save on them by, for example, refinancing your home loan, comparing insurance providers and other services. Spend a day going over it all and you can save thousands.

#6. Control your impulses
Credit cards, ATMs and online shopping make it easier than ever to spend money. Especially on things we want rather than need; the extent to which we succumb to temptation typically boils down to our willpower. Studies have shown that self-control is a bit like a muscle that tires out with use.

Ironically, it’s the willpower of poorer shoppers that tends to get depleted the most. This is a result of the fact they face repeated, difficult financial decisions.

“It’s not that the poor have less willpower than the rich,” says the American Psychological Association.

“Rather, for people living in poverty, every decision – even whether to buy soap – requires self-control and dips into their limited willpower pool.”

If you see something you want,  wait at least a day before you buy it – 30 days if it’s a non-necessary big purchase. You might find the urge passes. Another way of short-circuiting your impulse to buy is to work out how many hours of work the purchase price represents; chances are you’ll think the item’s not worth it.

#7. Smooth your bills
‘Bill smoothing’ is a payment system offered by utility providers (electricity, gas, water) whereby you pay them fortnightly or monthly, instead of having to pay the whole bill in one go.

It protects people on tight budgets from bill shock and having to go into debt and potentially pay interest.

Adopt a similar approach with your everyday finances: regularly squirreling money away to pay large bills down the track.

#8. Plan your meals
Meal planning is one of the easiest ways to save money. If you know what you’re eating for the week and have shopped accordingly, there’ll be no need for random visits to the supermarket. Extra visits result in your spending more money and even wasting food. It will be even easier for you to stay within budget by buying all of your staple items at lower-priced stores.

#9. Become a ‘promiscuous consumer’
If you’re a brand loyalist – someone who repeatedly buys a product or service – beware.

Chances are the vendor in question knows you’re less price sensitive than most prospective customers. They could be taking advantage of your loyalty or, worse, taking you for granted by charging you noncompetitive prices.

Don’t allow your emotional connection to a vendor to get in the way, start looking for a better deal elsewhere.

Just the threat of leaving may prompt a better offer from your current supplier. They’ll understand retaining existing customers is usually far cheaper than winning new ones.

And if they don’t give you a discount or free upgrade, for example, don’t despair. More than likely, there are other companies lining up to give you a good introductory deal.

Don’t allow your emotional connection to a vendor to get in the way, start looking for a better deal elsewhere.

In short, you should become a ‘promiscuous consumer’! Not only will being loyal not get you a better deal, it’s almost certain to end up costing you more. Make sure you have no brand loyalty and are willing to switch whenever a competitor offers better value.

#10. Avoid a poverty mentality
Many people consider thrift – using money and other resources carefully and not wastefully – a virtue. However, while thrift is an obvious way to save, we need to guard against being too frugal. Ultimately, the only way to get ahead financially is to focus on earning, saving and investing. Focusing on skimping on the grocery and electricity bill will only get you so far, and puts you at risk of a poverty mentality.

A poverty, or lack, mentality is one preoccupied with a shortage of money: all the things the person doesn’t have and can’t get.

These people tend to have self-limiting beliefs and to make decisions based on fear of loss or failure. In contrast, people with a prosperity, or abundance, mentality base their decisions on what the possible benefits are.

#11. Use our savings goal planner
Use a savings goal planner to work out how much you need to regularly set aside to reach your savings target; and what discretionary spending you could cut in the process.

By Invitation Only, or How to Get Monaco Residency?

OHMYGOSSIP – Monaco is the most densely populated state in Europe and, perhaps, in the world. Situated between France and Italy, the Principality occupies only 2,2 sq.km, but the number of its inhabitants falls only just short of 40 000 people. It is no wonder that the population density in Monaco is so very high.

Besides, the Principality is a multinational state where the population is mostly made up of foreigners and less than one third is Monegasque. According to different sources, the Principality is home to more than 2500 residents with fortunes of more than 10 million euros each. This makes Monaco the leader in density of millionaires. Unlike Luxembourg and Liechtenstein where the average size of fortune per capita is not higher than 700 000 euros, Monaco can brag about the impressive amount of its per capita wealth of 2 million euros. According to Verdict’s report, in 2017, 30,6% of the Monegasque population had more than 1 million euros in their bank accounts.

If we recall that the Monegasque government cancelled income tax as far back as 1869, it becomes clear why the Principality is known as tax haven. Today the local fiscal system has a total absence of direct taxation and inheritance tax varies from 0% to 16% depending on the degree of kinship.

The rich and famous have always been attracted by the multiple benefits of Monaco residency. In the list of outstanding athletes and visionary businessmen living in the Principality you will find Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic, entrepreneur David Nahmad, founder of EasyJet Stelios Haji-Ioannou, F1 driver Nico Rosberg and many others. In 2004, the Egyptian billionaire Mohammed Al-Fayed, the former owner of Fulham F.C. and London department store Harrods, joined Monaco’s A-list residents.

Despite impressive statistics and big names, there are few who can become eligible to be a member of this private club called Monaco. So, what steps should you take to get a resident card?

First, think of opening an account in one of Monaco’s banks. A certain amount should be placed on deposit and it will average about 500 000 euros. This amount shall remain untouched during your residence in the Principality.

The second step is housing. Here you have two options: rental or purchase. According to the Knight Frank agency, Monaco claims the most expensive home prices of any country in the world, beating out New York, Hong Kong, London and Singapore. In 2017, the Principality recorded the highest price of 53 000 euros per square meter in the sector of luxury real estate. So before taking the first steps in obtaining a resident card, settle the housing matter: are you ready to sign a big check and become an owner or is rental a better option for you?

And last but not the least, you should provide a copy of a police report with your criminal record information from the last two countries in which you have resided in the five years prior to your arrival in Monaco. By the way, if you aren’t resident of the European Economic Area, then before collecting documents, you need to apply for a long-stay visa via the French Consulate closest to you.

What’s next?

Once you have collected all the documents it is time to contact the Residency Section and schedule an interview. The conversation with representatives of the Monaco local authorities will concern your family, business, origin of your financial resources, etc. You should also bring all the required documents to the interview, so your application will be able to be processed.

If your profile conforms to all the requirements, you can expect your resident card to be authorized within 1-3 months.

If you are determined to change scenery and give yourself a taste of the Mediterranean climate here (and Monaco residency, of course), Monaco Welcome Office holds special meetings for future and new residents. There you will learn more about local administrative procedures and obtain answers to your questions. The meetings take place in the Principality, normally within a year.
New opportunities for future residents

Monaco has long been synonymous with efficient and high-quality client service; that’s why here you will meet people who care about your comfort and well-being. The Principality is always looking out for its citizens and residents and creating new projects to enhance the quality of their lives.

No prizes for guessing which need has always been the most acute for Monaco. For decades local government has faced a housing shortage and tried to ease the problem by setting up offshore extension projects.

The first attempt to increase the territory of the country was made by the prince Rainier III in the second half of the twentieth century. Following that decision, Monaco saw a whole new district grow on the other side of Le Rocher, which is now called Fontvieille. Nowadays, continuing his father’s policy Prince Albert II has started a titanic operation that will claim six hectares from the sea and will allow another whole new quarter to be built.

Thus, by 2025 the housing issue in the Principality will hopefully improve and that project plus the construction of other real estate projects will increase the flow of residents in Monaco.

So now, perhaps, it is a high time to think of your future in the Principality!

Should an ATOMIC BOMB explode in the vicinity: How to escape? Where to shelter?

OHMYGOSSIP – OHMYGOSSIP has compiled a synopsis for our readers – with the help of scientists and experts – about advisable action in the event of explosion of a nuclear bomb in the region. When you notice a sudden intense flash of light that can possibly blind your eyes, it is likely that an atomic bomb just exploded, this is in case its epicenter was within the range of 50 miles (80,5 km). Once you can look around again and unless you are feeling excessively calm, you may conclude that you are still alive.

Additional signs of explosion would be first to third degree burns, this is in case its epicenter was within the range of 16 kilometers. The trademark of the nuclear bomb is, as you may know, the mushroom-shaped cloud in the sky.

As soon as you have figured out what is going on, you should search for shelter to hide from radioactive dust. Try to find an edifice with thick walls, the thicker the walls the better.
For example: most suitable are buildings with thick concrete or brick walls and no windows, or underground shelters such as basements and cellars.

Hiding in that kind of places it is likely that the amount of received radiation is 0,5% or 1/200 from the radiation outside. The best option would be a bomb shelter, however that would not always be at hand.

Wooden constructions such as rack houses in modern residential areas do not guarantee significant protection from radiation. If you know a nearby building that would do and it will take you less than five minutes to make it there, it is worth the risk. Should it take already 15 minutes outside to reach the destination, then remain where you are for the next hour and then move to a better spot. This precaution is because the fall of radioactive dust will remarkably diminish by that time.

Once you are in a building with thick walls, make sure to keep away from doors and windows. If possible, take a shower or simply wipe the exposed skin with a wet towel, also uickly take off the contaminated clothes. Put the clothes in a plastic bag, close the bag and take it as far from where you yourself are as possible. While in a shower, use shampoo and soap, but do not rub or scratch the skin. Also, do not use conditioner, since it will glue the radioactive particles to your hair. When finished with the shower, also blow your nose and brush the eyebrows, eyelashes and ears, to remove as much of the remaining radioactive grime as possible.

Note that you should drink only bottled water and eat food from undisclosed containers, until the rescue team reaches you. As you wait there, you can listen to the radio in  order to learn about the relevant events and perspective of finding help.
