Gladiators star Harry Aikines-Aryeetey AKA Nitro signs up for Strictly Christmas special

OHMYGOSSIP — Harry Aikines-Aryeetey has signed up for the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ Christmas special.
The 36-year-old sprinter has appeared as Nitro on the BBC revival of ‘Gladiators’ since it was brought back at the start of 2024 but will now be rounding off the year by competing in the festive edition of the Latin and ballroom series.
He said: “‘Strictly’…are you ready?! Nitro’s blasting onto the Ballroom floor this Christmas! I’m swapping my trainers for dancing shoes, and trust me, I’m bringing the power, the energy and the moves! This December I’m gonna light up that dancefloor and crank the Christmas spirit all the way up. Let’s do this!”
The sports star is the fourth famous face to be announced for the Christmas special and follows on from reality TV personality Vogue Williams, former ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race UK’ contestant Tayce and comedian Josh Widdicombe.
Ahead of her dancefloor debut, Vogue said: “I’m so excited to join the Strictly family! Carlos would have more of a chance of winning a Nobel prize than turning me into a good dancer but I am determined to try my very best! I’m loving it so far, bring on the Ballroom floor.”
The pre-recorded episode – which airs on December 25 – will see each of the six couples perform a festive-themed routine in the hope of impressing the judges, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Shirley Ballas, as well as the voting studio audience.
The remaining Christmas lineup will be announced on ‘Strictly: It Takes Two’ in due course.
Last year, celebrities such as television presenter Dan Snow, Sugababes singer Keisha Buchanan and BBC Breakfast host Sally Nugent all competed for the festive version of the Glitterball Trophy, but in the end, it was ‘EastEnders’ actor Jamie Borthwick and his professional partner Nancy Xu who reigned supreme.
‘Strictly Come Dancing Christmas’ special will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Christmas Day

Coleen Rooney says she is ‘not the type to play things out in public’ and ‘shame’ over Wagatha trial

OHMYGOSSIP — Coleen Rooney felt “ashamed” over going to court with Rebekah Vardy.
The 38-year-old star – who is married to footballer Wayne Rooney – was unsuccessfully sued for libel by Jamie Vardy’s wife Rebekah, 41, after she accused her fellow WAG of leaking details of her private life to the press via Instagram but revealed on Monday’s (18.11.24) episode of ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’ that she hoped things would never get that far to begin with.
She said: “I didn’t think it would get the impact that it did. I just done it because I was that sick and tired of it. It was draining. It was the fact that it carried on and carried on, that was my worst nightmare for it to go to court. She took me to court. I felt ashamed going to court because I’m not the type to play things out in public.
Coleen – who is reportedly being paid a record £1.5 million fee for her appearance on this year’s edition of the jungle reality show – regrets that the whole showdown became a “bit of a joke” because it was never like that for her.
She said: “I just felt like it was putting on a show for the whole world. I didn’t want that, I wanted to settle it before and get it done with. What got me about the whole thing was it became a bit of a joke. It wasn’t a joke for me.
“People were saying that it was just two schoolgirls but no one knew the full story.”
Rebekah was ordered to pay 90 per cent of Coleen’s legal costs – but the bill is being contested over claims it has been inflated by items including fancy dinners and stays in swanky hotels.
The former model was an approved follower of Coleen’s private Instagram page and Mrs Rooney was dubbed Wagatha Christie for her social media sleuthing, a reference to the legendary mystery author Agatha Christie.
Meanwhile, ‘Loose Women’ star and TikTok personality GK Barry had faced the Vile Volcano Bushtucker Trial after being voted by the public to do it and after thwarting off insects and rats, she returned to camp with nine out of a possible 10 stars.
She warned her co-stars: “Good luck to all of you, they’ve upped it this year. That was hell.”
The public then decided that BBC Radio 1 host Dean McCullough will face the Sinister Sarcophagus but exclaimed upon learning that he is to go underground that that is the “one thing” he said he did not want to do whilst in the jungle.
He said: “I’m going underground?! What’s a Sarcorphagos? A coffin? That is the one thing that I didn’t want to do!”
‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’ continues on Tuesday (19.11.24) on ITV1 at 9pm.

Jeremy Clarkson to defy doctor orders to ‘avoid stress’ by leading farmer protest

OHMYGOSSIP — Jeremy Clarkson is to defy doctors’ orders and join a 20,000-farmer protest, despite being urged to “avoid stress”.
The ‘Clarkson’s Farm’ star recently underwent emergency heart surgery to clear his blocked arteries, but he, his co-star Kaleb Cooper and thousands of other farmers will head to London on Tuesday (19.11.24) to demonstrate against the government’s upcoming changes to how agricultural property is taxed.
He told The Sun newspaper: “I will be there, despite having letters from doctors telling me not to go on the march and saying I must avoid stress.”
Jeremy has booked two coaches to take him and his farmer pals down to London from his Diddly Squat Farm in the Cotswolds.
When in the capital, they will protest against the so-called “tractor tax”, a proposed 20 per cent tax increase on inherited agricultural assets worth more than £1 million, which Jeremy says is a “hugely important issue”.
He said: “We have got two coaches of farmers from around here who are leaving from Diddly Squat.
“It is a hugely important issue.”
More than 218,000 have signed an online petition in a bid to overturn the family farm tax, which many fear will see family farms having to be sold off.
It comes after Kaleb recently revealed Jeremy is feeling “really good” and is back on his farm after emergency heart surgery to clear his blocked arteries.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘This Morning’ on October 26th, Kaleb said about his boss: “He’s doing good, he’s really good.
“I was with him yesterday, we were on the farm together yesterday.
“I’ll go and say hello to him in a minute and we’ll have a cup of tea.”
Quizzed on whether Jeremy’s health scare was a worrying time, he said: “Yeah, it was. I was with him when it happened and he’s definitely a fighter. He’s a strong man.
“He had the procedure and he’s doing really good.”
Former ‘Top Gear’ host Jeremy recently admitted he was “fine” after undergoing heart surgery.
He told The Sun: “I’m very grateful to everyone who sent supportive messages but I’m fine. I just have to not do any manual labour or dishwasher emptying for the next four years.
“At least I think that’s what the doctor said.”

The 36-year-old presenter sat down with the ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ legend for a special conversation set to air on BBC Two and iPlayer next month.
‘Mariah Meets Rylan’ – which has a run time of 55 minutes – was filmed in Los Angeles and will cover the pop icon’s life, music and her timeless festive hit.
Rylan said in a statement: “All my Christmases came at once this year when I got to sit down and interview none other than the Queen of Christmas!
“They say don’t meet your heroes, but Mariah was everything and more. I can’t wait for you all to see it.”
BBC Two will celebrate Mariah “with an evening of programming” on the same night, including an extended edition of ‘Mariah Carey at the BBC’.

She also tells Rylan about being inspired by the likes of Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin and George Michael, as well as working with Jackie Chan and Westlife.
She also reflects on 30 years of ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ and her album ‘Merry Christmas’, while Rylan puts her English accent to the test in a pretend audition for ‘EastEnders’.

“That’s a wrap on the next installment of #NowYouSeeMe – coming to theaters November 14, 2025.”
Eisenberg recently revealed he broke his finger on set but hailed the movie as “astounding”.
He told Total Film magazine: “We’ve been in Budapest for the last three months, and I almost made it till the end without breaking anything. “And the movie is really astounding. It’s directed by Ruben Fleischer. This is my fourth movie with him…
“Every day we walk onto set and pinch ourselves because the set pieces, the magic, the ensemble, it’s really, truly miraculous.”
Plot details are being kept closely under wraps, but new cast members for the movie include Justice Smith, Rosamund Pike, Dominic Sessa and Ariana Greenblatt.
The film is being directed by ‘Venom’ filmmaker Ruben Fleischer, who will work from a script written by Eric Warren Singer, Seth Grahame-Smith and Mike Lesslie.

“Any great magician knows, you can’t keep doing the same tricks. And Eric and his team of illusionists have something special up their sleeve for this new film.”
The first ‘Now You See Me’ movie was directed by Louis Leterrier and was released in 2013, with a John M. Chu-directed sequel following three years later.

Ridley Scott claims Denzel Washington’s same-sex Gladiator II kiss ‘didn’t happen’

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Ridley Scott has claimed Denzel Washington’s same-sex ‘Gladiator II’ kiss “didn’t happen”.
Washington – who plays Rome powerbroker Macrinus in the movie – recently told how he kissed a man on the lips in ‘Gladiator II’, but said it was cut from the movie because he thinks the film’s bosses “got chicken” about including it in the finished motion picture.
However, director Scott has now insisted the moment was only “acted out”.
Speaking at the Hollywood premiere of ‘Gladiator II’, he told Voariety: “N, that’s bull. It was a senator.
“They never did. They acted the moment – it didn’t happen.”
When asked to clarify if it “never happened”, he replied: “No. It didn’t happen because they acted the moment.”
Washington has now said it was a “peck” on the lips, and insisted it is a “much ado about nothing”.
He added: “They’re making more of it than it was. I kissed him on his hands, I gave him a peck and I killed him.”
Earlier this month, Washington spoke about the “kiss of death” scene.
He told Gayety: “I actually kissed a man in the film but they took it out, they cut it, I think they got chicken.
“I kissed a guy full on the lips and I guess they weren’t ready for that yet.
“I killed him about five minutes later. It’s ‘Gladiator.’ It’s the kiss of death.”
The actor recently teased fans they can expect ‘Gladiator II’ – which also stars Paul Mescal and Pedro Pascal – to be “ridiculously big” and “epic”.
He told the publication: “[It’s] huge! Ridiculously big!”
When asked whether his co-stars Mescal and Pascal are “good” in the film, the actor replied: “Not good. Great. Both of them. It’s a hard act to follow, and Paul pulled it off. He’s his own gladiator.
“I didn’t have to do anything but this [sips water with his little finger up]. That was my job. Just twirl the glass, twirl the goblet, and hold whatever I had in my other hand.
“And make sure I don’t step on my gown.”

Ainsley Harriott celebrates TV diversity

OHMYGOSSIP — Ainsley Harriott thinks it is “wonderful” to see more diversity on television.
The 67-year-old star – who has adult children Maddie and Jimmy with ex-wife Clare Fellows – admitted the broader range of faces on the small screen has come as a “surprise” to his generation but he is delighted to see how things have changed since he became the first black chef to make it on UK TV.
He told the Mail on Sunday newspaper: “For us it’s different because we grew up without it. And now it’s there. There’s gradually been change, not only in TV commercials, but in dramas, and it’s a reflection of everyday life.
“For the older generation, it’s a bit of a surprise, but for the younger generation we’re normalising it. I think it’s wonderful, and it’s a real positivity – and long may it last!’
“My daughter’s a young woman in her 30s, and she turned round and said, ‘Dad, it’s not for you, it’s for the next generation.’ It slowly becomes normal.”
The former ‘Ready Steady Cook’ host admitted he had experienced “adversity” when he went for jobs when he was younger so he is delighted to see change in the public eye.
He added: “There were some who didn’t want a black chef fronting their restaurants and you had to deal with that.’
“When [TV] came along it was the perfect opportunity to lay a platform.
“There was youth coming through, not only black people, but chefs coming through that a black kid, a person of colour, could identify with that and make them feel a lot more positive about being in the industry and having the opportunities.
“It’s happening in football and in cricket. It’s fabulous when you go to a match, everyone is getting on and they just want to win.
“It doesn’t matter what colour you are or where you’re from. It’s not about the colour of your skin.
“It’s all about the sport and that feeling of being part of a team, being part of something that brings people together.”

Disney remove Star Wars film from 2026 schedule

OHMYGOSSIP — Disney have removed a planned ‘Star Wars’ movie from their 2026 release schedule.
The studio had been due to release a new film from the sci-fi franchise, for which details hadn’t been disclosed, on 18 December 2026, but it has now been taken off and instead the recently-announced ‘Ice Age 6’ will be taking its place, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
Disney revealed at D23 in Brazil last week that the follow-up to 2016’s ‘Ice Age: Collision Course’ had gone into production, with Ray Romano, Queen Latifah and John Leguizamo all reprising their voice roles.
A video clip showed Ray shivering in a blanket as he said: “Ray Romano here with some big news! Wow, it’s cold in here. Did the AC break or something?”
Latifah was then seen calling her co-star and she said: “Hey Ray, ready to give the big announcement? I see you got my gift. I thought it would be fun.”
As she said it, snow began to fall on the sound stage and Ray then declared: “’Ice Age 6′ is coming to theatres.”
John closed out the video saying: “The Herd is back, baby! I gotta call everybody I know.”
The film will mark the first theatrical title for the series since Disney’s purchase of 21st Century Fox in 2019.
Meanwhile, plans are still in place to release Jon Favreau’s ‘The Mandalorian and Grogu’ – a spinoff from the Disney+ ‘Star Wars’ series ‘The Mandalorian – on 22 May 2026, while director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy is working on another film in the franchise focused on Daisy Ridley’s character Rey Skywalker.
And last week, the studio announced Simon Kinberg had been brought in to write and produce a new ‘Star Wars’ trilogy, which will be produced by Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy.
Sources told The Hollywood Reporter that the films will involve new characters and not be a continuation of the main nine-movie series.

China Anne McClain thinks Cameron Boyce would be proud of Descendants return

OHMYGOSSIP — China Anne McClain thinks the late Cameron Boyce would have been proud of the latest ‘Descendants’ movie.
The 26-year-old actress reprised her role as Uma, now the principal of Auradon Prep School in ‘Descendants: The Rise of Red’ and she thinks her beloved co-star – who passed away in 2019 aged just 20 after suffering a seizure in his sleep – would have got pleasure in seeing the excitement the new cast members had about being part of the beloved Disney series.
She told People magazine: “I think that he would’ve been really excited to see it and to see how [the movie] turned out because, to be honest, none of us knew how anyone was going to receive it.
Talking about how the new cast members brought back memories of filming the first movie in 2015, she added: “They were so excited and they’re so young. All of them are so young that I looked at them, and I was reminded of when I stepped on set to do ‘Descendants’ the first time.
“And also how I’m sure Cameron felt, because we both were in the Disney system before we stepped into ‘Descendants’, and we’ve known each other since we were children.
“So I think that it would’ve meant a lot to him to see the baton passed on.”
China previously admitted she was “nervous” about returning to the franchise without her friend but ultimately found it to be a “healing” experience.
She told People at the time: “I was apprehensive to revisit the Descendants world at first, because losing Cam was the first heartbreak I’ve ever experienced.
“But once I saw how excited the new generation of kids were, it reminded me of myself when we created the original films.
“Everything came together beautifully. There’s one scene that is very special to me, I’m sure the audience will be able to guess which one it is once they see the movie. Stepping back into Uma was very fulfilling, and healing for me.”
The new film features a tribute to Cameron, when China’s Una talks to Fairy Godmother about her plans to open the school up to all Villain Kids (VK) and declares it is what his character Carlos would have wanted, as she tearfully looks over at a framed photo of him on the wall.

Saoirse Ronan praises ‘truly special’ Paul Weller

OHMYGOSSIP — Saoirse Ronan found Paul Weller to be a “truly special person”.
The 30-year-old actress stars opposite the ‘Changingman’ singer in ‘Blitz’, and though playing her dad was the former Jam frontman’s first acting role, the Oscar-nominated star found him very “humble and open to learning”.
She told Britain’s HELLO! Magazine: “Having Paul Weller play my father was surreal.
“Who could ever imagine a rock star like him playing your dad?
“He’s the kindest, most down-to-earth person and he really committed to the role.
“Even though Paul hadn’t acted before, he was so humble and open to learning.
“I absolutely loved spending time with him – he’s truly a special person.”
The 1940s-set drama – which was directed by Sir Steve McQueen – sees Saoirse’s character Rita left devastated when she has to send her nine-year-old son George to the countryside with other young World War II evacuees.
The actress drew on her relationship with her own mother to play the role.
Speaking of her conversations with the director, she said: “We spoke a lot about our own mothers and how much of an impact it had on us, and how formative my relationship was in particular with my mother and that really set the tone for who George and Rita were as a pair…
“It’s exactly in the way a young parent does with their kids, you know?
“I mean, my mam had me when she was 30 so she wasn’t super-young, but there’s an element to our relationship that’s almost like we’re sisters.”
The cast also got the chance to speak to wartime survivors as part of their preparations.
Saoirse said: “We spoke to survivors of the Blitz.
“There’s obviously some sort of trauma happening somewhere in the back of your head but you do just go, ‘OK, this is our reality now.’ ”

Barry McGuigan wants to avoid being ‘politically incorrect’ on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

OHMYGOSSIP — Barry McGuigan has had a “number of discussions” with ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ producers on how “best not to offend people”.
The 63-year-old former boxer admitted he is concerned there is a “possibility” of him saying something “politically incorrect” during his stint in the jungle but he is “keen to get it right” and will take on board any constructive criticism.
He is quoted by MailOnline as saying: “I’ve just had a number of discussions this morning with the production people so that you do your best not to offend people.
“So if I offend anybody, or if I say something wrong, I will ask them how they would like me to address them. And therefore I want to get it right, and I want to hear it from them.
“So I’ll do my best to do that. But you know, am I going to put my hand on my heart and say I’ll go through potentially three weeks without saying something politically incorrect? No, I can’t say I’ll do that. But of course, that’s always a possibility.”
Barry is concerned about the possibility of being “cancelled” if he says the wrong thing.
He said: “Political correctness changes every day.
“And how you address people, how you address sexes and race and all of that, you have to be politically correct, especially when potentially 10 to 12 million people watch it.
“So you know, it’s just trying to hurt people’s feelings. I don’t want to do that. So you do your level best to [make sure] that you’re politically correct.”
But the retired sportsman thinks it would be “impossible” to avoid any arguments in the camp for the duration of the show and is willing to play “referee”.
He said: “It’s simply impossible to be in a sort of pressurised environment like that for three weeks, potentially more than that, and not have falling outs.”

Coleen Rooney vows to be herself on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

OHMYGOSSIP — Coleen Rooney doesn’t care about “winning anyone over” on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’.
The 37-year-old star – who has four sons, Kai, 15, Klay, 11, Kit, eight, and Cass, six, with husband Wayne Rooney – knows appearing on the programme will be the most she has ever “been exposed” to the public, and while that means people will be forming opinions about her, she’s planning to be herself.
She told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: “This show is going to be the most I’ve ever been exposed and people will get to see me for me. Everyone has opinions of people in the public eye, and what they’re like based on events in their life. But it’s a show that is nice to see what personalities are out there, not just written about. I think it will be interesting.
“To be honest with you, I’m doing the show for me. I’m not doing it for anyone else. Not to win anyone over. What you see is what you get and if people like it, they like it, and if they don’t, they don’t. Everyone’s not everyone’s cup of tea. But it’s the most you will ever see me as me. I think it’s a show that exposes the person for what they are.”
Coleen knows she’s likely to face questions about her feud with Rebekah Vardy, who she accused of leaking stories about her and won a subsequent court case against, but hopes people don’t dwell on it too much.
She said: “That’s a place that I’ve been, I’ve dealt with it.
“I did the documentary to draw a line under it and it depends on what conversation it actually is at the time. In my life now, I’m just moving forward and not looking back. That’s something I’ve done my whole life, dealt with things and moved forward at the time and got on.
“There are more important things to think about with the family and kids. So it depends on the conversation at the time and what’s said. But talking to the press and stuff, I did the documentary to explain what happened, my view on it and just get on with my life really.”
Coleen is looking forward to taking part in the show because it gives her a chance to put herself first.
She said: “It’s a one-off adventure and it’s a test of now, we are so caught up in a busy life and with devices and I just feel like now’s the time I Could go and do something for myself because I feel like I’m always doing, like I’m a mum, a wife, I feel like I can do something for me. It’s the perfect show.”

Wynne Evans and Katya Jones eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Wynne Evans has been eliminated from ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 52-year-old opera singer – who is best known for starring in the GoCompare adverts – had been taking part in the BBC dance competition alongside professional partner Katya Jones but left the series on Sunday (17.11.24) after landing in the bottom two against Olympian Montell Douglas and Johannes Radebe at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom.
When asked by host Tess Daly about his time on the show, Wynne said: “It’s been wonderful, I’ve got to say. I feel like it’s what Strictly is all about. If I can come and do Strictly and last until week nine, then anybody can get out there and dance and have a brilliant time. Strictly is such a brilliant family, such a precious family, that I want everybody here in this room and at home to look after it for the generations to come because it is a wonderful, wonderful thing.”
In the dance-off, Montell and Johannes performed their Salsa to ‘Don’t Leave Me This Way’ before Wynne and Katya performed their Charleston to ‘Les Toreadors’ by George Bizet.
In the end, judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton Du Beke opted to save Montell and Johannes whilst head judge Shirley Ballas admitted she would have voted the same had she had the chance.
Katya said: “To be honest with you, the smile hasn’t left my face since the first day of our training, since the day we got partnered up.
“You [to Wynne] have made this experience so joyous and so full of laughter for me. I’m sure everybody was jealous because you’re the kind of guy that everybody wants in their life. You bring light, you bring laughter, you bring charisma, you fill up every room you walk into with those qualities”
Wynne and Katya will join Fleur East for their first exclusive televised interview live on ‘Strictly: It Takes Two’ on Monday 18 November at 18:30 on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer
The remaining seven couples will take to the dancefloor next week when ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ returns live on Saturday 23 November at 7:05pm

GK Barry voted to do I’m A Celebrity trial after meltdown in first episode: ‘I’m gonna die!’

OHMYGOSSIP — GK Barry will face the first publicly-voted trial on ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’
The 25-year-old podcaster is one of several famous faces to have landed in the Australian outback for this year’s edition of the ITV1 jungle survival reality show but almost broke down in tears when she heard that she will have to compete for camp meals in ‘Vile Volcano’.
Speaking on Sunday’s (17.11.24) episode just after the news was revealed by hosts Ant and Dec, she exclaimed: “I’m gonna die! What does volcano mean?”
GK – whose real name is Grace Keeling – was instantly consoled by her ‘Loose Women’ co-star Jane Moore, who hugged her and reminded her that it “doesn’t matter” how many stars she returns with.
Just before that, the pair had competed in a challenge that saw GK hunting for a key to let them free their canoe on their way to camp.
After having to thrust her hand into a box of insects, GK screamed and later declared that it was already “worse” than she had imaged.
She said: “I knew the dunny was going to be bad but I didn’t know it was going to be that bad.
“Everything here is so much worse than it looks on the telly.”
Earlier in the episode, McFly singer Danny Jones and boxer Barry McGuigan faced The Mausoleum Of Misery, and despite contending with snakes in a cave, they managed to come back with five out of a possible 10 stars for camp.
Meanwhile, ‘Coronation Street’ star Alan Halsall – who has played Tyrone Dobbs on the ITV soap opera for over 25 years – and former ‘X Factor’ judge Tulisa have been given the roles of Camp Leaders, which means they get to sleep in relative luxury after winning a task which saw them compete in pairs against their co-stars for trial exemption,
Elsewhere, WAG Coleen Rooney – who is thought to have become the highest-paid contestant ever with a reported fee of £1.5 million – has been in a relationship with footballer Wayne Rooney since her teenage years and married him in 2008 but admitted in a chat with her co-strs that it wasn’t love at first sight on her part.
She said: “Nooo, it was for him but not for me!”
‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’ continues on Monday 18 November at 9pm on ITV1.

Coleen Rooney’s ‘I’m A Celeb codename revealed’

OHMYGOSSIP — Coleen Rooney was reportedly given the codename “Marple” before her appearance on ‘I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!’ was confirmed.
Wayne Rooney’s wife has headed into the jungle for the new series of the ITV reality series which reports suggesting she’s taking home a staggering £1.5 million fee for the appearance – and now it’s been revealed bosses were keen to keep her involvement secret so they gave a codename relating to her Wagatha Christie drama.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Bosses at ITV were desperate to keep Coleen’s signing a secret for as long as they possibly could.
“She’s the biggest and best for years and they broke the bank to get her, so they wanted to keep schtum on it until the last minute.
“They come up with a codename for all the contestants, and sometimes it’s something to do with that particular person.
“The choice for Coleen was apt and it would take someone with her detective skills to work it out.”
Marple is a nod to the character of Miss Marple – the fictional detective created by Agatha Christie. Coleen became linked to the crime writer back in 2019 when she was branded Wagatha Christie over her online sleuthing which led to her naming an Instagram account belonging to fellow WAG Rebekah Vardy as the source of leaks to the press.
The row led to a multimillion pound court battle after Rebekah unsuccessfully sued Coleen and was ordered to 90 per cent of her legal costs.
Speaking to journalists before she headed into camp, Coleen insisted she wants to put the whole saga behind her.
She said: “That’s a place that I’ve been, I’ve dealt with it. In my life now, I’m just moving forward and not looking back. That’s something I’ve done my whole life, dealt with things, moved forward at the time and got on. There are more important things to think about with the family and kids …
“I think I’d rather just be known as Coleen from Liverpool. Not from any other type of place. It’s just me, as I always have been. So hopefully people just think she’s that Scouser that she’s always been.”
The paper reports other campmates were also given codenames with Jane Moore – who writes a column for The Sun – being called “Moon”, former boxer Barry McGuigan was reportedly called “Cyclones” in a nod to his nickname The Clones Cyclone and McFly singer Danny Jones being named ‘Rocket’.

Rylan Clark warns trolls not to mock pal Tulisa’s appearance

OHMYGOSSIP — Rylan Clark has warned trolls not to come for his pal Tulisa’s appearance.
The N-Dubz star, 36, entered the ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’ jungle on Sunday (17.11.24) and the former ‘Big Brother’ host, also 36, took to social media to brand the noughties star’s participation in the ITV reality show an exciting throwback.
He first shared the singer’s head shot for the programme and wrote on X: “YES 2012 come throughhhhhhh (sic)”
Before adding: “Also before people start going for appearance, Tulisa has been through a lot health wise the last few years so let’s not make s*** jokes about her on twitter yeah x. (sic)”
The ‘Best Behaviour’ hitmaker was diagnosed with Bell’s palsy – a temporary weakness or lack of movement that usually affects one side of the face – in 2019 and previously revealed she takes steroids to reduce the swelling.
She told the Guardian newspaper: “I was diagnosed with Bell’s palsy four years ago and I’m learning to live with it.
“I’ve got chronic pain and inflammation down the whole left side of my body as well as in my face and in my kneecap. Steroids reduce the inflammation.
“On one occasion an attack felt as if I was having a stroke. I spent seven months hiding, drinking out of a straw – I couldn’t move one side of my face. Experts have yet to find out the root cause.”
Tulisa previously opened up about her health struggles and being trolled for the way she looks.
The former ‘X Factor’ judge told ‘Loose Women’: “I think the first attack I had was after a serious horse-riding accident and I fractured my skull and it caused a lot of nerve damage and the Bell’s palsy can cause facial paralysis, it can cause swelling.
“There’s actually been times when people have criticised me for the way I look and my face and I’m actually going through a Bell’s palsy attack. I remember it was an ITV appearance one time and I saw an online comment like, ‘Her face looks like she’s had a stroke’, and that can be the effects of Bell’s palsy.
“It can come on at any time, I have emergency steroids on me, but luckily I know now how to manage it so the attacks don’t last for as long.”
