Emily Blunt’s Mary Poppins nerves

OHMYGOSSIP — Emily Blunt has tried to not get caught up in the “white noise” of playing Mary Poppins.
The 35-year-old actress admits she was nervous about taking on the iconic role for ‘Mary Poppins Returns’ as she didn’t want to be compared to Julie Andrews, who played the character in the 1964 movie.
She said: “I just try to approach her as I would any other character and not be caught up in the white noise of, ‘Oh my God, you are Mary Poppins.’ I think that has been my main focus, is just to approach her calmly, as I would any other character, how I would play her, with what I have been given on the page?”
And Emily – who has Hazel, four, and Violet, two, with her husband John Krasinski – wants the movie to be “great comfort” to young and old.
She told Mashable: “The film, for me, and I think for most people, is one of those films that is seared into people’s memory, an emblem of their nostalgia in many ways. I do remember it very fondly and took such a great comfort in it as a child. That was something that struck me – that person coming in and so capable and so magical, and just sweeping it all up and making it right. So I think we are trying to, obviously, continue that [comfort] now too with our film.”
Meanwhile, Emily previously revealed she “would pay” to make another ‘Mary Poppins’ movie.
She shared: “Oh, I would pay Rob [Marshall, director] to do it again with me. Yeah, I would. Definitely. More stories left to tell.”

Eddie Redmayne ‘stalks’ J. K. Rowling on Twitter for movie secrets

OHMYGOSSIP — Eddie Redmayne “stalks” J. K. Rowling on Twitter to find out more information about the next ‘Fantastic Beasts’ movie.
The ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’ movie may have only just made its premiere but its lead star – who plays magizoologist Newt Scamander in the movie – is already excited to find out just where Newt will be heading next.
He said: “Jo tweeted that the next one might be set in Rio de Janeiro so we found that out with the rest of the world, so Newt and Tina on the Copacabana Beach maybe? I’m genuinely stalking J. K. Rowling on Twitter [for information].
And Eddie admits he got “sweaty palms” reading the script for ‘The Crimes of Grindelwald’.
He told RTÉ Entertainment: “I literally got sweaty palms as I read the script and then I finished the script, took one massive deep breath, downed a glass of water and started all over again. I was like, ‘Is this real’. It’s pretty jaw-dropping, isn’t it?”
Eddie had previously teased that ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’ is “darker” than the first film in the franchise.
He said: “The most riveting aspect is the tonal change. It’s darker and more rigorous and weaving in the ‘Potter’ lore we’re much more familiar with. So these characters you met in the first film are now in the wizarding world you understand more thoroughly. When I read [the script] it had these cryptic elements to it and it played like a thriller that made it a page-turner … I’m enlisted by Dumbledore to try and track him down and capture him. What’s happened is Grindelwald’s belief that purebloods should reign over all non-magical beings is a political thing. He’s rallying more and more people and it causes divisions across families. He’s pretty hypnotic.”

Eva Longoria Bastón to direct 24-7

OHMYGOSSIP — Eva Longoria Bastón will direct Kerry Washington in ’24-7′.
The ‘Desperate Housewives’ star is set to make her feature directorial debut in the Universal workplace comedy, whilst also producing and acting alongside the ‘Scandal’ actress.
The 43-year-old actress has teamed up with Paul Feig and Jessie Henderson, who will produce the feature under FeigCo Entertainment whilst Longoria Bastón and Washington will produce under their respective UnbeliEVAble Entertainment and Simpson Street.
The script has been penned by Sarah Rothschild and follows the story of a group of women accountants who work against a group of male co-stars in a bid to solve a fraud case.
Meanwhile, Eva previously admitted she wasn’t “reaching her full potential” as an actress.
She said: “I knew when I was on set [as an actress] I wasn’t reaching my full potential as a human being, and I love telling people what to do – I’m really good at it. I say this confidently, not arrogantly. I’m a really good director because I’m a woman, because directing is about problem-solving and I think woman are the best problem solvers in the world.”
And Eva has always said her “goal” is to direct and produce.
She explained: “My goal has always been to direct and produce. I want to see my stories reflected on the big and small screens. I want more control over my destiny in this industry. Economic mobility is one way to empower Latinas. Latinas are the CEOs of the household finances and health decisions. I want to give women the tools to make sure they become engines for good.”

Missing Disney film is found

OHMYGOSSIP — A missing Disney film has resurfaced in Japan.
A 1928 Disney animation of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, titled ‘Neck n’ Neck’, which pre-dates Mickey Mouse, was bought by anime history researcher, Yasushi Watanabe, over 70 years ago.
Watanabe said: “As I’ve been a Disney fan for many years, I’m happy that I was able to play a role [in the discovery].
Whilst Becky Cline, director of Walt Disney Archives, added: “We’re absolutely delighted to learn that a copy of the lost film exists.”
In the two minute clip, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, is chased by a dog traffic cop but there is also a longer five minute version.

Cheryl wants Cardi B collaboration

OHMYGOSSIP — Cheryl wants to collaborate with Cardi B on a new song.
The ‘Love Made Me Do It’ hitmaker is currently working on a series of singles releases before her fifth studio album – the follow-up to 2014’s ‘Only Human’ – and she has named both the ‘Bodak Yellow’ rapper and ‘Love Lies’ singer Khalid as artists she would like to feature on a track.
Speaking on the ‘Official Vodafone Big Top 40’, she said: “I do want a feature for one of [the new songs]. First of all, I love Khalid… and I’d love Cardi B.”
While the 35-year-old star has already finished “enough songs for an album”, she explained she is “going to go song-by-song” and focus on singles for a while before she decides whether to release a new full length collection.
Cheryl’s latest track is the ‘Fight For This Love’ singer’s first release since signing to 3Beat and she has recently explained that this time around she has been able to make music free from the pressures and constraints of a record label.
She said: “I just made the music from a really pure place, music simply for the love of it. I thought, if I don’t know what I’m doing by now, then I don’t know what I’m doing in this industry.”
It’s been reported she signed up for the label – which is a part of Universal, and is home to acts such as Sigma – because of their “huge success” in the singles chart.
A source close to the star previously said: “When she went into Universal this summer to discuss plans for release, bosses were impressed.
“After several meetings she did a deal with 3Beat because they’ve had huge success in the singles chart in the past few years and would give her creative freedom.
“She has a string of singles she wants to release before committing to an album and now she can test the waters to do whatever she wants.”
You can hear more from Cheryl on ‘The Official Vodafone Big Top 40’ with Marvin Humes and Kat Shoob this Sunday (18.11.18) from 4pm.

Michael Buble says son’s cancer put life into perspective

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Buble says that dealing with son’s cancer battle put his life into perspective.
The 43-year-old singer was left devastated when his oldest son was diagnosed with liver cancer in 2016, and he’s revealed that Noah’s recovery made him realise that there were more important things in his life than being a celebrity.
He told The Times: “All of the things I thought were such a big deal, like my insecurities, what people think of me, how many will this sell, what will the critics say – they went in a moment.
“Suddenly, all I could think was, ‘Why did I ever allow that in? Why didn’t I see that I have all I need right here, that everything else is fluff?’
“Throughout that time I prayed and meditated, and promised myself that from on I would just be real.”
Michael and his wife Luisa – whom he wed in 2011 – have children Noah, five, Elisa, two, and three-month-old Vilda together.
The ‘Home’ crooner also stated that he believes his brave son Noah – who is now in the clear – should be the one to speak about the battle because it’s not Michael’s to open up about.
He said: “It is still very painful obviously. I don’t go into detail because it is not my story, it is my kid’s story, and if he wants to tell it, he will.”
The ‘Feeling Good’ star previously told OK magazine that Noah’s heart breaking diagnosis gave him clarity because it made him not care about what people were saying about him on the internet and other trivial things.
He said: “I cared about what people thought, what the internet was saying, and I lost my way..
“As I was having this crisis, the diagnosis came and all of a sudden, this clarity.”

Mumford and Sons went folk out of necessity

OHMYGOSSIP — Mumford & Sons’ signature folk sound was born out of necessity.
The ‘Little Lion Man’ group – made up of Marcus Mumford, Ben Lovett, Winston Marshall and Ted Dwane – was criticised for the stylish departure with both 2015’s ‘Wilder Mind’ and brand new album ‘Delta’.
However, frontman Marcus told The Guardian newspaper that they simply wrote their early material on the road “with whatever we had to hand”.
He explained: “Most of the time, what we had to hand were acoustic instruments.”
The apparent shift sparked outrage with purist fans, and the band has had to deal with online trolls trashing their sound.
Responding to the hate, the singer added: “Anyone who says they don’t read their own press is completely bulls***ting.
“I read something on Twitter recently that said: ‘I have it on good authority that the guys from Mumford & Sons are complete ****s’.
“I kind of wanted to know: who’s the authority?”
Meanwhile, the band’s latest album – which was released today (16.11.18) – takes a lyrical direction inspired by the fact they’re growing older and settling into adult life.
Marcus has two children with actress Carey Mulligan – whom he married in 2012 – while Ben’s divorce from long time partner Jemma Janney inspired his contributions to the record.
Mumford explained: “It felt for a while as if we’d been cruising down the river-lands in various ways – especially on tour.
“It’s like a bubble… [Coming home felt like] moving from shelter to the wild. We decided to call the album ‘Delta’ for that reason.”

Frank Ocean makes Instagram profile public

OHMYGOSSIP — Frank Ocean has made his secret Instagram profile public.
The 31-year-old star has been posting away unknowingly to his fans since May 2017, under the username “@blonded” – which at the time of writing has almost 400,000 followers – and on Thursday (15.11.18) he finally allowed the world to see his posts.
Alongside a mirror selfie showing off his six-pack, the ‘Swim Good’ hitmaker simply wrote: “Welcome.”
Other images shared on the photo-sharing app include ones of Frank with his pals Tyler, the Creator, SZA and Zoë Kravitz.
The “Nikes’ star is famously private and rarely gives interviews, however, in 2016, he admitted he may never release another album.
The singer decided that after splitting from Def Jam Recordings, he didn’t feel the need to release a full collection of songs and might stick to a “half-a-song format”.
In the rare chat, he said: “Because I am not in a record deal, I don’t have to operate in an album format. I can operate in half-a-song format.”
Frank said it was important for him to self-release his first album in five years, ‘Blonde’, because he wouldn’t have to worry about how it would do in the charts like his previous albums including 2012’s ‘Channel Orange’.
He said: “With this record [‘Blonde’] in particular, I wanted to feel like I won before the record came out, and I did, and so it took a lot pressure off of me about how the record even would perform after the fact. Once the goal is met, everything else is lagniappe. It’s not essential for me to have a big debut week, it’s not essential for me to have big radio records.”
He also teased that he could be moving away from music to try something new that he is a “novice” at.
He said: “I believe that I am one of the best in the world at what I do, and that’s all I ever wanted to be.
“It’s more interesting for me to figure out how to be superior in areas where I’m naive, where I am a novice.”
Since the interview, Frank has released a slew of singles such as 2017’s ‘Biking’ featuring Jay-Z and Tyler, the Creator, ‘Lens’ and ‘Protector’.
However, he hinted in an essay for i:D magazine that fans may be in store for a treat this year.
He wrote: “If you liked two thousand and seventeen then you’ll love two thousand and eighteen.”
Frank also has had own Beats 1 show ‘Blonded Radio’, which ran from February to August 2017.

Khloe Kardashian to spend Thanksgiving with Tristan

OHMYGOSSIP — Khloe Kardashian will reportedly spend Thanksgiving with Tristan Thompson in Cleveland.
The couple want to make their first festive experience with their baby daughter True as special as possible, and Khloe feels it’s “important” that her baby girl’s father is present so they can make their “own family traditions” together.
An insider told E! News: “Tristan’s schedule worked out so they could spend Thanksgiving together in Cleveland.
“It’s True’s first Thanksgiving and Khloe wants to celebrate it as a family. It’s very important to her that True has her own family traditions and is with both her mom and dad.”
Despite plans to spend the upcoming festive holiday – which takes place on November 22 – in Cleveland, Khloe is reportedly still unsure about moving there from Los Angeles full time, after finding it “hard” dealing with the basketball player’s alleged infidelity days before she gave birth to their little girl in April.
The source added: “She is still very happy in L.A. with her family support and the thought of being back in Cleveland by herself is unsettling.
“She isn’t making long-term plans and is just taking it little by little and seeing what happens.
“He’s very conflicted and tries her best to stay focused on True and all the joys of motherhood.
“It’s complicated with Tristan, but he’s True’s dad and that’s what matters most to Khloe.”
The ‘Revenge Body’ star’s family are extremely supportive of Khloe, and admire the 34-year-old reality star for being so strong.
The source explained: “They know Khloe is doing what she feels is best for True.
“Regardless of how they feel about Tristan and what he did, they admire Khloe’s strength and how she has put her little girl first.”
Khloe recently admitted she struggled to process everything that happened because she knew she was being scrutinised.
In scenes from an upcoming episode of ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’, her older sister, Kourtney Kardashian, offered her support.
She told Khloe: “I feel like everyone just wants you to know that you’re supported.”
Her sibling replied: “I appreciate that. I do. It’s also, everyone has their own s**t that I know nothing about.
“And mine is thrown on the public of everything and it’s just, it’s a lot harder to filter through stuff when it’s this public and when I gave birth the following day. It’s just too much.”
And the Good American owner admitted she was just desperate to be left alone.
Kourtney asked: “Is everyone writing you?”
Khloe replied: “Too many people, but writing about both things. I’m like, ‘Shut up.’ I don’t have the energy for that right now like, everyone, leave me alone.”
Khloe recently admitted she’s found it difficult having to relive the scandal and wished the show was filmed closer to its broadcast date.
She tweeted: “I love filming for the show and I am proud that we are all strong and brave enough to be vulnerable BUT we have to start airing shows closer to real time. This episode is about 7 months old and it’s a lot to relive all over again. But maybe I need to (sic)”

Gabrielle Union ‘feels like a jacka**’ demanding equal pay

OHMYGOSSIP — Gabrielle Union feels “like a jacka**” having to demand equal pay.
The 46-year-old actress has said that whilst the issue of the gender pay gap is still rife in Hollywood, she also sees a large difference between the pay of white actresses compared to women of colour, but insists she feels like she “should be grateful” for the money she earns, even though someone else is earning more than her for doing the same job.
Speaking with Ellen Pompeo, Emma Roberts, and Gina Rodriguez as part of PorterEdit’s Women in TV issue, she said: “You feel like a jacka**; you feel like you should just be grateful and be quiet because it’s more [money] than others [make]. But at the same time, when those lists come out, when Forbes drops the top-paid actresses in television or the top-paid actresses in film, and there’s no women of colour on it, it’s like well why didn’t you speak up?”
The ‘Being Mary Jane’ star says it can often be a risk because if she complains about her pay she may lose the role altogether, but notes that she shouldn’t feel “undervalued” on set either.
She added: “Sometimes it’s your teams that are like, ‘We could go too far and you could lose [the job] altogether’. But then it’s like, do I want to be part of a project where they don’t really value me? But [they] somehow saw the value in all these other people, and that value comes with a very clear number that isn’t anywhere close to what we’re asking for. I’m asking for a crumb compared to what you’ve actually paid and not gotten a return on.
“You just wanna work, but there comes a point where you think I’m not gonna feel good on set if I’m undervalued and my money doesn’t match my contribution.”
And Gabrielle isn’t the only one feeling the pressure of the pay gap, as ‘American Horror Story’ star Emma says she’s willingly taken less pay because she was told she wouldn’t get the part if she wanted more money.
The 27-year-old actress said: “I’ve taken less money knowing I’m taking less than a male costar, because they’re telling me this is as much as we’re going to give you; your male costar is getting more, if you don’t take this deal, another girl will. And I take it because I’m so passionate [about the project]. I was embarrassed to tell my friends, because what if my girlfriends are making as much money as their male costars.”

Nadiya Hussain has struggled with mental health

OHMYGOSSIP — Nadiya Hussain says that having mental health issues have added to her struggles as a British Muslim woman.
The 33-year-old – who rose to fame after winning the sixth series of BBC’s ‘The Great British Bake Off’ in 2015 – has suggested her mental health issues have added to her societal struggles.
In an interview with Jonathan Ross, she said: “Everything that could go wrong, can go wrong for me because I’m brown and I’m a woman and I’m a Muslim so every time I try and do something there is always that element of, ‘You have to prove yourself.’
“Then on top of that, having mental health issues and then admitting to it, that in itself is really tricky…”
Nadiya revealed that she actually took part in the popular cooking competition because she has panic disorder and her husband encouraged her to do something challenging and independent.
‘The One Show’ contributor explained: “When I entered ‘Bake Off’, I didn’t do it because I wanted to, I did it because I have got panic disorder and I really struggle and my husband said, ‘I really want you to go off and do something without us…’ ”
She also revealed that she has had mixed response from talking about her struggles on social media because while some fans support her, others think “she’s just another fad, she’s just another celebrity, it’s a bandwagon”.
But she remained adamant that her battle with mental health is genuine and said it can affect everyone – including the rich and famous.
She added: “Mental health does not discriminate, it doesn’t matter how rich, how poor, what race, it is there. It’s as inevitable as death. Sorry but it’s true.”

Joe Sugg apologises to Strictly’s Darcey Bussell

OHMYGOSSIP — Joe Sugg has apologised to ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judge Darcey Bussell for counting his steps.
The YouTube star is paired with pro Dianne Buswell on the BBC ballroom competition, and their Samba – set to Hanson’s ‘MMMBop’ was met with criticism for the little mishap.
Speaking on ‘It Takes Two’, he said: “As soon as the judges tell me something, I like to take it on board.
“I’m never doing that [again]. Listen to what they say, there’s a reason they are the judges and they know their stuff… I won’t do it again Darcey and I’m sorry.”
Joe, 27, previously revealed Dianne, 29, has been hugely supportive during his time on the show and has been offering words of encouragement and even praised his long neck, which has caught the attention of fans on social media.
He said: “My pro partner Dianne says that I’ve got a good ear for music and my rhythm is getting better.
“She also pointed out that I have a long neck, which is good for ballroom, the style I’m most looking forward to. There’s already five Twitter accounts called Support Joe’s Neck, which shows what my fan base is like!”
Although Joe has a huge group of younger admirers, he admitted he was prepared for the older generation to be more unfamiliar with his work.
He said: “I was prepared for the “who’s he?” backlash when they announced the line-up. But I do appreciate that there’s a whole generation who don’t know who I am.
“There will, however, be youngsters in their families that do. And that’s the reason I’m doing ‘Strictly’. If I can help to bring families together on a Saturday night, that’s a massive win in my book.”

Gina Rodriguez: Representation on TV would make society more tolerant

OHMYGOSSIP — Gina Rodriguez thinks fairer representation on television would create a “much more tolerant” society.
The 34-year-old actress has insisted that if minority groups were represented in a more positive light on popular television programmes, it would eliminate the negative stereotypes attached to them, and create a society where people are more accepting of different groups.
Speaking with Ellen Pompeo, Emma Roberts, and Gabrielle Union as part of PorterEdit’s Women in TV issue, the ‘Jane the Virgin’ star said: “Growing up as a Latina in the United States, I didn’t see us portrayed positively on TV. When you see certain images repeated so often, the reflection of representation on screen makes you feel a certain way about yourself. […] I just wonder how much more tolerant our society would be if there weren’t such stereotypical roles portrayed for so long. If Latinos weren’t always portrayed as the villain, would we really feel a particular way about that community? If Muslims weren’t portrayed as the terrorists, would we feel a certain way about that community? I don’t think so.”
And ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ star Ellen agrees, as she stated that as a caucasian actress, she feels a “responsibility” to make sure that more is done to promote diversity and inclusivity in media.
She said: “As Caucasian people, it’s our job, it’s our task, it’s our responsibility to make sure that we speak up in every single room we walk into, [to say] that this is not okay and that we can all do better. It’s our job, because we’ve created the problem.
“When I show up on set, I would like to see the crew look like the world that I walk around in every day, and I think it’s up to all productions to make sure that your crew looks like the world we see. It’s the first thing I notice when I walk in a room.”
Whilst Gabrielle noted that the cast and crew of the television show need to “match” the audience the show is marketed toward.
The ‘Being Mary Jane’ star said: “The people in front of and behind the cameras need to match the target audience.”

Cardi B frustrated by weight loss

OHMYGOSSIP — Cardi B can’t stop losing weight and it is making her feel “really depressed”.
The ‘Bodak Yellow’ hitmaker is finding it frustrating that she can’t put on any weight as she loves her curves but says her poor appetite is stopping her from getting bigger.
Speaking during an Instagram Live session, she said: “I cannot stop losing weight. And it’s so crazy because when I first gave birth I did everything to lose my baby weight. I was drinking Teami so I could curve my appetite and now that I lost all the baby weight in my stomach and in my arms and in my face, now I want to gain weight, but now I can’t gain weight because I have a terrible appetite. I can literally go 24 hours without eating.
“I used to be skinny when I was a teenager. I used to hate it and I hate it now. That’s been really depressing me, making me sad, my weight … and then my t**s got saggy, but I still like my t**s. I have my six pack right now, but I need my thighs though.”
Meanwhile, Cardi previously revealed she doesn’t post pictures of her baby daughter Kulture on social media because there are “too many mean people” online.
She said: “One day, soon. I’m scared of sharing her to the world. There are too many mean people out there. Sometimes I do want to show people how beautiful and how precious she is. She’s so precious. There’s a lot of people that have crazy minds, you know. I want to protect her! She’s my little buggy.”

Little Mix want to join Spice Girls on tour

OHMYGOSSIP — Little Mix would love to tour with the Spice Girls.
The ‘Strip’ hitmakers – comprised of Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards, and Jade Thirlwall – say that as a feisty girl group, they are inspired by the Spice Girls and would love to join their upcoming 2019 reunion tour.
When asked if they’d want to join the ‘Wannabe’ hitmakers – Emma Bunton, Geri Horner, Mel B, and Mel C, who are going on tour as a four piece without Victoria Beckham – on the road, Jesy said: “We’d love to.”
Whilst Leigh-Anne added: “It has to happen.”
All four of the ‘Power’ singers – who won UK talent show ‘The X Factor’ in 2011 – were inspired by the Spice Girls, and Jesy says they all love how empowering the ‘Spice Up Your Life’ singers are.
She told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “We loved that they were all about girl power and never held back. It was great how they didn’t give a s**t.
“They said what they wanted and made people feel good about themselves, we really aspire to be like that. It’s brilliant they’ve come back.”
Little Mix’s dream tour line-up comes after they broke a massive UK chart record held by the Spice Girls for 20 years in March this year, when ‘No More Sad Songs’ became their ninth Platinum single in the UK after selling 600,000 copies.
With nine Platinum certifications to their name, Little Mix trumped the Spice Girls UK chart record of eight – making both bands the only girl groups with two Double Platinum singles in the UK.
The Spice Girls tour is set to kick off in May next year, and although there were just six dates announced originally, a further four were added when tickets went on sale due to phenomenal demand.
So far, Jess Glynne has been announced as the support act for all shows, but it’s unknown whether there’s room for Little Mix on the bill too.
