Denise Richards was ‘naive’ to Charlie Sheen’s addiction issues

OHMYGOSSIP — Denise Richards was “incredibly naive” to Charlie Sheen’s addiction when they first met.
The 52-year-old star – who got engaged to the ‘Two And A Half Men’ actor in December 2001 and married him seven months later – has explained how he had been “sober for four years” at the time and she never had any concerns he would “relapse”.
She told Bethenny Frankel’s ‘Just B’ podcast: “For me, it was no question. I said, ‘No,’ I didn’t know that person.
“I only knew who I met. And that was a man who had been sober for four years.
“I didn’t judge him for his past because I figured, well, his past made him who he is today.
“And the person that I met was very different from the person that spiralled…”
The ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ star – who split from Charlie in 2005 when she was six months pregnant with their daughter Lola – insisted it wasn’t “boring” being with someone sober, as she noted she wasn’t much of a “partier” herself.
She explained: “I wasn’t thinking, ‘Oh, shoot. I just started dating Charlie Sheen and I just read all these crazy stories about him and how come we’re not doing [those things]?”
She did reveal how she encouraged Charlie to play Charlie Harper in ‘Two and a Half Men’, which became one of his most iconic roles, despite his nerves “about starting a new TV show after ‘Spin City’ got cancelled”.
She recalled: “I read the script for [‘Two and a half Men’] and said, ‘You have to do this show.’
“He was going to do a different show,” she added. “And I read the script and I go, ‘You’re crazy for not doing this.'”
And she has suggested the success of the show – which he starred in from 2003 to 2011 – had an impact on his sobriety.
She said: “I think because [of] the success of ‘Two and a Half Men’ and the money, I think that led to him getting back into not being sober.”
Denise – who filed for divorce in 2006 – insisted she didn’t want to speak for her ex about the impact of the show but added: “All I know is he was no longer the person that I married and no longer sober.”
After getting fired from the show following a series of rants directed at creator Chuck Lorre, Charlie got sober and later admitted it was “awful” looking back at his downfall, and the pair have since made amends.

I’m A Celebrity spin-off show returning this year

OHMYGOSSIP — A popular ‘I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!’ spin-off show will return later this year.
Over the years, the popular programme has been accompanied by additional shows – including ‘Extra Camp’ and ‘Get Me Out Of Here… Now!’ – for fans needing an extra dose of the jungle, and the last series saw Ant and Dec take a more relaxed approached with Instagram Live stream ‘Jungle Club’.
According to The Sun newspaper, ITV bosses want the social media show – which featured the presenters’ immediate reactions to each episode, and answered all of the funny and bizarre questions viewers had for the dynamic duo – to continue this year.
A source said: “I’m A Celeb has some of the best script writers in the business who work alongside Ant and Dec on the main show, but viewers also love it when the lads just chat and interact with them online.
“Jungle Club proved to be hugely popular last year so it was a no-brainer to bring it back for round two.”
Theories about who will be taking on the jungle this year continue to swirl, with the news of a sports star landing in Australia sparking rumours of their appearance in the show.
According to the Daily Mirror newspaper, former jockey Frankie Dettori flew to the country on Monday (06.11.23) morning, and had told his followers he was heading to Melbourne for the Melbourne Cup.
On Sunday, he told fans: “Hi everyone, I am here in California at the moment. I will get on the plane after racing, I’m coming to Melbourne for the Melbourne Cup.
“Unfortunately, this year I’m suspended, so I can’t ride but I will support the Melbourne Cup carnival for the week, see some old friends riding and have a smashing time at the racing. Hopefully, we see some good winners, so make sure you come and see us.”
Other stars rumoured to appear in the show are ‘First Dates’ legend Fred Sirieix, ‘Hollyoaks’ actor Nick Pickard, and JLS singer Marvin Humes.

‘Car crash!’ Noel Fielding roasts disastrous Great British Bake Off challenge

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Great British Bake Off’ host Noel Fielding branded this week’s technical challenge a total “car crash”.
On Tuesday (07.11.23) night’s Desserts Week episode of the Channel 4 baking show, the bakers were tasked with creating six individual orange and ginger treacle puddings, but the results were disastrous.
While the contestants were working on their bakes, Paul Hollywood told fellow judge Prue Leith: “It’s critical that they get the bake right. It’s 40 minutes minimum.”
Unfortunately, a most of them only put the puddings in for 20 to 25 minutes, and they were only partially cooked.
Noel called the task a “car crash”, while Paul looked at one attempt and walked away from the table, describing them as “disgusting”.
He teased: “You’ve let Prue down, you’ve let me down, you’ve let yourselves down. Consider yourselves roasted.”
Noel’s co-host Alison Hammond jokingly reassured the bakers by pointing out that they were at least “all roughly on the same level”, but Matty quipped: “That’s not a compliment.”
In the end, it was Saku who got eliminated from the competition this week as Dan was named Star Baker.
She said: “I’m so proud of myself. I don’t miss baking, but I will miss them [the fellow bakers].
“It’s really sad to leave them. It’s a privilege to be a part of this lovely family.”
In a farewell note to fans, she has since described the whole experience as a “rollercoaster ride”.
She wrote: “Since I submitted my bake-off application just few hours before the deadline until the day I left the big white tent in week 7, I had the most wonderful experience (and terrifying too) in my life.”
And she opened up about the bond shared between the bakers and Tasha’s British Sign Language interpreter Daryl, who has been a constant in the tent.
She added: “[I have] gained lifelong friendships with 11 amazingly talented bakers and one very special interpreter.”

James Martin is taking a break amid cancer battle

OHMYGOSSIP — James Martin is taking “a bit of a break” to focus on his cancer battle.
The 51-year-old TV chef revealed over the summer that he has been battling facial cancer since 2018, having first undergone surgery five years ago before the disease returned on “several occasions”.
As reported by the Liverpool Echo, he told fans at his recent show at the Philharmonic Hall: “For me personally, I’ve been through a lot of s*** with cancer but I’m getting sorted at the end of next month.
“I will be back fighting at the end of February but I’m going on a little bit of a break to get that sorted.
“I just wanted to say thank you for all your support and all your messages.”
He revealed his battle after The Sun newspaper reported earlier this year that he ranted at his staff online for 10 minutes about a blocked drain.
A whistleblower passed a recording of the sweary tirade after James was accused of bullying his crew following a string of incidents on the set of ‘James Martin’s Spanish Adventure’.
He responded to The Sun: “Firstly, I would like to publicly and sincerely apologise to the crew involved in this incident, as I did at the time.
“I have always strived to keep my private life private. However since details of a conversation, which was secretly recorded in January 2018, are now five years later being made public by a former member of our production team, I have decided to make a statement.
“The end of 2017 was one of the most fraught and difficult periods of my life. I was dealing with the death of my last living grandparent, my grandfather, and on account of work commitments I could not attend his funeral.
“Later that month I was burgled at night by a team of masked men, who entered my house while my partner Louise was at home alone and I was away working. I was devastated that she had to go through that alone.
“On top of this I was then diagnosed with cancer on my face… after all this stress I was in a very emotional state, and when after filming in early January 2018 I discovered my home had been flooded while filming, I was extremely upset.”

Bruce Dickinson starring in ABBA horror film Bjorn of the Dead

OHMYGOSSIP — Bruce Dickinson is starring in ‘Bjorn of the Dead’.
The Iron Maiden frontman has been cast in the new movie that centres on an ABBA tribute band who find themselves trapped in a nightclub at the beginning of the apocalypse.
The film is being directed by Elza Kephart and has been written by Bruce’s son Austin Dickinson. It is based on an original story by Andrew Prendergast, who serves as a producer.
The horror comedy takes place in the world of tribute bands as Bjorn, the lead singer of Abbatoir, and bandmates Benny, Anni-Frid and Agnetha spent their weekends performing ABBA classics at depressing venues.
The band are ready to call it a day when Benny – the oldest and neediest member – hears about a Battle Of The Bands competition for tribute acts at The Niney Dimey.
As the band arrives, things begin to go wrong rapidly. Bjorn and his bandmates have to take cover backstage as a disturbance gets out of control. Some of the bands are injured from the fracas outside, which soon presents a problem when the wounded transform into the bloodthirsty undead.
In addition to Bruce, the movie will have numerous cameos from the rock and heavy metal genre.
Raven Banner is handling global sales for the project, which is set to enter production in 2024.
Prendergast said: “We are thrilled to be making this blood-drenched gore fest from Austin’s super funny, terrifying, cautionary tale about the inner workings of the music industry.”
Austin added: “I’m absolutely honoured to be working with Raven Banner on this crazy adventure.
“Andrew, Elza, and myself can’t wait for you guys to see what’s in store. Get your spandex on, preen your wigs, and sharpen your axes. Bjorn is coming.”

Enola Holmes 3 in the works at Netflix

OHMYGOSSIP — A third ‘Enola Holmes’ film is in development at Netflix.
The streamer’s movie chief Scott Stuber has explained that another movie featuring their “homegrown star” Millie Bobby Brown as the younger sister of Sherlock Holmes is in the works.
Speaking to Collider, Stuber said: “You know, she’s such a great homegrown star for us. I mean, obviously, ‘Stranger Things’ is huge for us in that, and watching her grow as an actress.
“We have a film called ‘Damsel’ with her in the spring, which I’m really excited about, (from) Juan Carlos Fresnadillo.”
He continued: “Then, getting that character right. The Holmes IP is weirdly elastic. Obviously, Warner Bros. did an incredible job with Downey and Jude Law, so this idea that we can extend that IP with her is exciting. So, we’re working on a screenplay to try to get that. But yes, aspiration. I’d like to do another one.”
Millie expressed hope that a third film would be made as she loved playing the role in the 2020 mystery detective movie and the 2022 sequel.
The 19-year-old star said: “Obviously. I really hope so. I love Enola, and I know that, now, people are very much invested in the character and the plot, and I can only hope that Netflix provides that trust and opportunity once more.”
Millie served as a producer on both films and joked that the only “diva” on set was coronavirus as production took place during the pandemic.
She said: “Thank goodness I am able to work with wonderful people. There is not one person on that set that ever plays up. Luckily we work with real actors and real professionals, so we are never hit with that issue ever. The only big diva is COVID that just comes in and sweeps our sets. That’s the only thing we tackled. Other than that, no actors were harmed in the making of this film.”

Bare-faced Pamela Anderson wants to ‘challenge beauty’

OHMYGOSSIP — Pamela Anderson wanted to “challenge beauty” by going make-up free in public.
The former ‘Baywatch’ actress has been going barefaced in recent months, including at Paris Fashion Week, and she explained she did so not just because she’s at ease with who she is, but also because she wanted people to question ideals when it comes to appearances.
Speaking to Today.com, she said: “I am much more comfortable in my own skin, but I also am in an industry that really focuses on beauty. And I thought, ‘I’m going to challenge beauty’.
“I think challenging ourselves is what keeps us young and beautiful. And I think, really genuinely, beauty does come from within and you don’t have to play the game.”
The 56-year-old star admitted shedding expectations has been liberating and she loves her simple life in Canada, which is documented on her reality show ‘Garden of Eden’.
She said: “I feel like courage is contagious and I hope to inspire people to live joyfully without bitterness.
“I’m just being like a dorky little kid out there running around in my garden. I do feel like I’m six years old again, just able to go to these beautiful places, wear these beautiful clothes and do these fun projects.
“I feel like I’ve reclaimed my childlike wonder instead of just putting that all aside and trying to get through things, survive things. It’s a much more of a fun place to be.”
Pamela previously revealed her decision to embrace a fresh faced style came after her breakup artist Alexis Vogel died from breast cancer in 2019.
She told Elle: “She was the best. And since then, I just felt, without Alexis, it’s just better for me not to wear makeup.”
She described the minimalist look at “freeing, and fun, and a little rebellious too”, and it goes well with her longstanding outlook on life.
She explained: “I did notice that there were all these people doing big makeup looks, and it’s just like me to go against the grain and do the opposite of what everyone’s doing.
“I think we all start looking a little funny when we get older.
“And I’m kind of laughing at myself when I look at the mirror. I go, ‘Wow, this is really… what’s happening to me?’ It’s a journey.”

Timbaland apologises to Britney Spears for telling Justin Timberlake to ‘put a muzzle’ on her

OHMYGOSSIP — Timbaland has apologised for saying Justin Timberlake should “put a muzzle” on ex-girlfriend Britney Spears.
The producer made the comment last month during a live interview with 9th Wonder at the Kennedy Center amid the release of the pop idol’s tell-all memoir, ‘The Woman In Me’.
Taking questions from the audience, he said of the troubled star: “She goin’ crazy, right? I wanted to call JT, ‘Man, you gotta put a muzzle on that girl.’”
And during a TikTok Live, he said: “I apologise to the Britney fans and her.”
His apology was in response to one user, who commented: “Yes, ‘you know about respecting women?’ Hell yeah.”
In the tome, Britney says she felt she was made out to be a “harlot who’d broken the heart of America’s golden boy” in Justin’s music video for ‘Cry Me A River’ – which Timbaland co-wrote – which came after their well-publicised split in 2002.
Britney also confessed that she cheated on Justin with Michael Jackson abuse accuser Wade Robson.
It has long been rumoured Britney, 41, and Justin, 42, split after three years of dating as she cheated with Australian choreographer Wade, 41, with the lyrics to the song fuelling speculation.
In her book, she wrote: “We were out one night and we went to a Spanish bar. We danced and danced. I made out with him that night.”
Britney also insists she stayed loyal to Justin for years “with that one exception”, and that she and Justin were able to stay together afterwards and move past it.
In 2001, Wade choreographed Britney’s ‘Oops… I Did it Again’ and ‘I’m a Slave 4 U’ music videos as well as her ‘Live from Las Vegas’ concert special, and she gushed about him in a chat in 2000 with Good Morning America: “He’s just like a child prodigy, seriously… he’s a genius. He’s amazing.”
Wade lived his life relatively out of the spotlight until he famously claimed in the 2019 ‘Leaving Neverland’ documentary he was abused as a child by the late King of Pop.
Justin, who is now settled with two sons with his actress wife Jessica Biel, 41, is said to be reeling over the revelations in Britney’s book.
Mum-of-two Britney also reveals in her memoir she chose to abort Justin’s baby when they were together as he wasn’t ready to be a dad.
She said about the termination when she was 19: “I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated.
“But Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young.”
Britney added having the abortion was “one of the most agonising things I have ever experienced in my life”.

Why Robbie Williams decided to strip off for his tell-all Netflix documentary

OHMYGOSSIP — Robbie Williams decided to film his Netflix documentary in his underwear because he wanted to be “comfortable.”
The 49-year-old pop star- who shot to fame as a member of Take That in the 1990s and went on to become a massively successful solo artist – has reflected on his rollercoaster career and personal struggles in an self-titled documentary released on the streaming giant on November 8 – and now filmmaker Joe Pearlman has revealed the crew’s shock at filming the ‘Angels’ hitmaker almost naked.
Joe told Metro newspaper: “There was a moment on about day six,’. My cameraman, Sebastian Feehan, just turned to me and goes, ‘What are we doing?’ And I was like, ‘What do you mean?’ He’s like, ‘I’m staring at Robbie Williams’ balls. What is going on?’. Rob wanted to become as comfortable as he could be. And that man loves being in his pants!”
Joe went on to add that Robbie’s demeanor came as a surprise to him as he compared the ‘Rock DJ’ singer to fellow A-Lister Lewis Capaldi as he noted that both musicians appear to adopt a different persona when they go on stage.
He said: “‘He’s not the person on stage that I thought maybe he would be. ‘But that’s the performance. That’s not the real person, it’s the same with all these performers, like Lewis Capaldi They get on stage and they have to become something other. But Robbie, he’s a very subdued, very kind, very loving person who just wanted to sit and chat and often just sit and be quiet.”
Robbie previously explained that shooting the documentary was dealing with his issues at a “a very, very slow pace” as he recounted a time when he was on stage and left “terrified” when his mental health struggles kicked in.
He told The Sunday Times: “It’s like those nightmares where you don’t know what’s happening and you can’t remember anything and you’re terrified. It was like that all night.
“Oh, I’ve got them all! Dyspraxia, dyslexia, ADHD, neurodiversity, body dysmorphia, hypervigilance…
“It was like watching a crash you were involved in, but in slo-mo. [Making the documentary] was like enduring your mental illness at a very, very slow pace, over a very, very long time. And it’s a niche thing to experience, you know. There aren’t many support groups for it.
“When they asked me to make the documentary, I came up with a jingle for it. ‘Trauma watch!/ Trauma watch!/ Have a trauma watch!/ I was in Take That then I left Take That/ Then I did drugs and I got real fat. They didn’t use that in the end.”

Prince William reflects on one year as the Prince of Wales: ‘I want to actually bring change!’

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince William wants to take royal duties “a step further” with his approach to social leadership.
The 41-year-old royal became the Prince of Wales upon the death of his grandmother Queen Elizabeth in September 2022 and has now admitted that he wants to “bring change” to important causes such as homelessness and mental health as he reflected on his first year as heir to the throne.
Speaking to reporters in Singapore at the conclusion of his Earthshot Prize event, he said: “So I think the thing that ties it all together for me is about social leadership. That’s what I’m trying to find my way in is I care about so many things and previously the family have been very much spotlighting brilliantly and going round and highlighting lots – I want to go a step further.
“I want to actually bring change and I want to bring people to the table who can do the change if I can’t do it. And so it’s all about progressing, helping and advancing particular social causes that need to be given more support.”
The future king – who is married to Catherine, Princess of Wales, and has Prince George,10, Princess Charlotte , eight, as well as five-year-old Prince Louis with her – went on to add that he wants to “do more” than simply be a patron of charitable organisations and vowed to “stay focus” as he strives to offer a “better future” for those in need.
He said: “I’ve been in the homelessness sector for a long time now, and so rather than just being patron I want to do more, I want to actually build the homes, I want to provide them with the mental support, all the employment and the education they might need.
“So it’s all these wraparound services, it’s kind of going deeper and longer, than it is the case of just having loads of causes that you sort of turn up and keep an eye on.
“It’s more about how do I show my intent more? How do we do more for you? And give you a better, better future.
“But you have to remain focused, if you spread yourself too thin you just can’t manage it and you won’t deliver the impact or the change that you really want to happen.”

Barbra Streisand claims she lost millions because of Brexit: ‘It ruined me!’

OHMYGOSSIP — Barbra Streisand was “ruined” by Brexit.
The 81-year-old music icon had purchased a Modigliani painting but claimed that once Britain decided to leave the European Union in 2016, the value of the artwork dropped because of how the pound was affected by the result of the referendum.
She told The Times: “When there’s problems it seems you always blame the Jews. Brexit ruined me when I bought that painting. I lost $2 million. The pound was $1.51 and all of a sudden it dropped into the $1.30s.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Funny Girl’ star has reflected on her lengthy career in showbiz in new memoir ‘My Name Is Barbra’ – which is out now – and reveals that she met late Hollywood icon Marlon Brando in the 1960s and the pair quickly got intimate together.
She writes: “Suddenly I felt someone kissing my back. Who would dare do that? I turned around and it was him. My idol. I blurted out exactly what I was thinking. ‘You’re destroying my fantasy.’ He said softly, ‘You can’t have a back like that and not have it kissed.’ I think my heart stopped for a moment. What a line! It was like something out of a movie.
“Instinctively you sense when there’s a connection … even before a word has been spoken. As soon as Brando turned around, the first words out of my mouth were again exactly what I was thinking: ‘Did you get your teeth capped?’ We skipped the small talk and went straight to the nitty-gritty.”
Barbra does not reveal in her tome just how far the relationship went but did recall that he once called her shortly before his death in 2004 to express that they should have made more of their time together.
He said: “You were so vulnerable that I fell in love with you all over again. should have done more when we were younger, f*****a lot, had children. Go kiss yourself in the mirror for me.”

Airports going green: LAX makes history on World Environment Day

Spotlight on LAX’s handling of aviation’s most eco-friendly commercial flight, Gatwick reducing its noise footprint and the recycling efforts of Detroit Metropolitan.

LAX makes history on World Environment Day

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) claims to have welcomed the most eco-friendly commercial flight in aviation history on World Environment Day.

Operator, Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), makes the claim because it says that United Airlines flight 310, a Boeing 737-900ER with a special Eco-Skies livery, was the first to demonstrate the following key actions on a single commercial flight:

  • Use of sustainable aviation biofuel
  • Zero cabin waste
  • Carbon offsetting; and
  • Operational efficiencies including all-electric ground handling equipment.

The ‘Flight for the Planet’, as United is calling it, departed from Chicago and landed at LAX, the company’s ‘eco-hub’ for sustainable operations, on June 5.

Its arrival coincided with United’s commitment to purchase up to 10 million gallons of sustainable aviation biofuel at LAX.

“LAX is proud to be United’s eco-hub for its most sustainable operations, highlighting our shared commitment to leading the industry in emerging sustainable aviation practices,” said Samantha Bricker, LAWA’s deputy executive director, environmental programmes group.

“Los Angeles World Airports is an international leader in airport sustainability, and partnerships like this one are leading the way to a greener future at our nation’s airports.”

The eco-hub designation comes in part from United’s recent commitment to continue buying and utilising sustainable biofuel for all of its departing flights at LAX over the next two years.

Gatwick reduces noise footprint

London Gatwick may be one of the UK’s busiest airports with rising passenger numbers, but its noise footprint is getting smaller, according to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

The CAA’s noise exposure contour analysis shows that Gatwick’s noise footprint (54dBA Leq) reduced by 7% in 2018.

The decline is being attributed to improved operational procedures – including smoother descents that reduce drag and use less power – as well as the phasing out of the noisiest aircraft and the introduction of new, quieter jets.

Using the nationally recognised standard measurement (54dBA Leq), Gatwick’s noise footprint shrank from 82.7 square kilometres to 77.1 square kilometres in 2018 – compared to 2017 – with the number of people living within this noise contour also falling to 10,200 from 10,950.

Cumulatively, over the last two years, 900 people have been taken out of this noise footprint as it shrank 11% – reducing in area from 86.5 square kilometres in 2016 to 77.1 square kilometres in 2018.

Gatwick’s noise footprint has reduced by 48% over the last 20 years and by 14.5% over the last decade.

In terms of future noise reductions, the next generation of aircraft – including the Airbus A320neo, A321neo and A350; and Boeing’s 787 (Dreamliner) – are up to 50% quieter than their predecessors.

The airport notes that in the future, the airline fleets that operate from Gatwick will be dominated by these quieter aircraft, with forecasts showing that this type of next generation aircraft will make up 86% of Gatwick’s aircraft fleet by 2032/33, up from 3% in 2017/18.

Andy Sinclair, Gatwick’s head of airspace, said: “We are making good progress against our objective of reducing the impact that aircraft noise has on our local communities, but we recognise that more must be done.

“We will continue to challenge ourselves and our industry partners and will be introducing a range of new initiatives to reduce noise further in coming years.”

Space for waste grows in DTW’s North Terminal

Wayne County Airport Authority (WCAA) is improving the public recycling programme in Detroit Metro Airport’s North Terminal in response to customer suggestions and the State of Michigan’s efforts to improve recycling throughout the state.

WCAA has added 45 coloured recycling receptacles to the North Terminal, the contents of which will be brought to an in-terminal recycling compactor before being transported to a local recycling facility.

“Our new waste receptacles use colours, shapes and pictures to help simplify the recycling process for our passengers,” comments WCAA sustainability programme administrator, Sara Kaplan.

Stephanie Beatriz joins In The Heights musical adaptation

OHMYGOSSIP — Stephanie Beatriz has joined the big-screen adaptation of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical ‘In The Heights’.
The ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ actress – who plays Detective Rosa Diaz in the hit sitcom – will join the musical adaptation alongside ‘Sex and the City’ star Daphne Rubin-Vega and Dascha Polanco of ‘Orange Is The New Black’.
The film is set over the course of three days, involving various characters in the largely Hispanic-American neighbourhood of Washington Heights in New York City.
Jon M. Chu will helm the project and Marc Klein will adapt the screenplay from Quiara Alegría Hudes musical book.
Daphne, 49, will play the outrageously dramatic owner of the salon where the neighbourhood girls come to gossip while Stephanie, 38, will play an employee of Daniela’s salon along with her best friend Vanessa (Melissa Barrera) the latter being the love interest of main character Usnavi (Anthony Ramos).
Dascha will play Cuca, a new character dreamed up by Lin-Manuel while Olga Merediz – who plays Rosa’s mother on ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ – has been cast as Abuela Claudia.
Lin-Manuel, 39, previously revealed that it’s not just ‘In The Heights’ that will be adapted for the big-screen and insisted that there “will be” a film version of his smash hit musical ‘Hamilton’ “at some point”.
The ‘Mary Poppins Returns’ star created the sold-out West End musical and shared that he will release an adaptation for the big screen because he wants “as many people to see it as possible”.
He said: “At some point I think there will be a film.
“I think that I spent seven years making that as a piece of theatre, so I want as many people to see it in that form as possible – and then we will start talking about the movie. It’s a tricky leap from stage to film, so we’ll see who figures it out.”

Cate Blanchett loves to ‘recycle and rework’ outfits

OHMYGOSSIP — Cate Blanchett loves to “recycle and re-wear” timeless outfits.
The 49-year-old actress tries to “hold onto” couture garments that she has acquired over the years and re-work the “beautifully made” pieces because “fashion always looks backwards”.
Speaking to UK Vogue, she said: “I love fashion. I see it all as costume. That’s where it springs from [for me], an interest in character and costume – but also when you get to work with great designers or people who are so good at tailoring or interested in forward-looking ideas.
“If you look at people like Roksanda Ilincic and her incredible collection where she smashes those extraordinary colours and patterns together, it is really inspiring.
“Recently I was unpacking stuff and I found an Armani suit that I’ve had since 1997. You hold onto these things; you don’t necessarily need to have the latest and the new.
“So, if you have something that’s beautifully made, you keep it and you re-wear it. Fashion always looks backwards to look forward, so why can’t we just recycle and re-wear?”
The ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ star signature fragrance when she was growing up was “lavender” or “violet” because it was what her grandmother always smelt like.
She added: “I was given my first fragrance while I was at drama school, my friend gave me a Clinique perfume that she didn’t like. I had absolutely no money.
“But I think probably even earlier than that I wore perfume. I must have smelled like lavender or violets because that’s what my grandmother smelled of.
“For me, growing up with my mother and grandmother, and remembering their scents, I felt like one day I’m going to be allowed through the portal into womanhood and I, too, will wear a fragrance.”

Shania Twain admits to ‘peeing’ herself on stage

OHMYGOSSIP — Shania Twain once “peed” herself on stage.
The 53-year-old singer has admitted that she suffered the unfortunate accident during a live performance, but Shania used a cunning trick to ensure that no-one in the audience was aware of what had happened.
She shared: “I was very clever in this one moment. I stood up from my chair to get up and sing. I peed myself, and the puddle, I just knocked my glass of water over.”
The ‘Man! I Feel Like a Woman!’ hitmaker was also fortunate that her outfit didn’t expose what had actually happened.
Shania told ‘Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen’: “I was wearing a skirt, thank goodness. I stood up, it all came out, I was dry.”
During her appearance on the show, Shania also recalled another bathroom-related incident.
The Canadian star revealed she once got locked out of her hotel room while she was not wearing any clothes.
Shania – who is married to Frederic Thiebaud – said: “I was in Rome with my husband.
“I get out of bed. I went to bed naked that night, and I had to go for a pee and I opened up the wrong door and I ended up in the hallway.”
Meanwhile, the country singer – who is one of the best-selling female artists of all time – revealed she’s a fan of American rapper Nicki Minaj.
Shania and Nicki, 35, met during the Coachella festival and they immediately struck up a bond.
She said: “She was so lovely. First of all, I’m a big fan of hers, a huge fan of Nicki Minaj.
“I told her I love her singing voice. She was very humble and just said, ‘Oh, you know, I’m not really a singer,’ and I said, ‘What! I love your singing voice.'”
