Britney Spears’ ex-assistant claims she was threatened by Jamie

OHMYGOSSIP — Britney Spears’ cousin and former assistant has claimed the singer’s father “threatened” her life if she didn’t cut contact with the star. Alli Sims hasn’t spoken to the ‘Toxic’ hitmaker since January 2008 when Jamie Spears – who at the time was yet to be appointed conservator of his daughter’s affairs – allegedly called her and warned something would happen to her if she didn’t sever her bond with Britney.

Alli – who left her job to move in with Britney and be paid as her assistant in 2007 – told NBC News: “He 100 percent was threatening me with my life. I didn’t put it past him, so I didn’t answer [her calls again].”

Alli admitted she carries “a lot of guilt” for cutting Britney out and admitted she’d received a lot of calls from her relative which she ignored after Jamie’s alleged threat. She said: “I can’t imagine how alone she felt. When I think about how long she has had to endure this and it being 13 years, it just makes me so sad for her. I really do hope one day she’s able to tell her story if that’s what she wants to do. If she does, get ready because there’s more to that story than I’m sure anybody could ever imagine.”

But the ex-employee admitted she wasn’t sure how to help the ‘Gimme More’ singer in the period leading up to her being placed under a conservatorship, and recalled how Britney used to call her from random numbers to ask for help when her own phone was taken away after she was put under two involuntary psychiatric holds in January 2008.

She said: “The situation had become way over my head at that point and her dad and other people were involved. I really do believe (Jamie) would have done something if I didn’t remove myself from the situation.”

Alli misses her cousin and admitted she’s always on her mind. She said: “Do I miss her as a person and think about her all the time? Yes. She’s all over the place still. You can’t help but think about her every day.”

Alli has spoken out following the release of documentary ‘Framing Britney Spears’, which follows the troubled pop star’s rise to fame and her public breakdown, and insisted she could no longer stay silent. She said: “How do you watch that documentary and be in it and live in that and not say anything when it has gone on for so long?”

A spokesperson for Jamie has yet to respond to Alli’s allegations.

Kristen Wiig hints she has married partner Avi Rothman

OHMYGOSSIP — Kristen Wiig has hinted that she has secretly married partner Avi Rothman. The 47-year-old actress referred to Avi as “my husband” in an interview on Howard Stern’s SiriusXM show, almost two years after she confirmed they were engaged in 2019 after they had been together for three years.

Kristen and Avi also became parents last year to twins via a surrogate, although the children’s names have never been made public.
She said in her interview on SiriusXM: “In my home, I am very lucky about having these two babies and my husband. They make it all better and changed my life in that regard.”

The ‘Bridesmaids’ star also opened about the struggle of returning to work while balancing her time with parenting. Kristen explained: “Right now I’m not going to an actual set, but because of all this stuff I’m not present as I would like to be and it’s really hard. I’m convinced they’re going to forget who I am if I’m gone for a day. I have looked at my children and said ‘I am your mother!’ I am nervous about leaving and going to work when that happens because there’s something really nice about being home with them all the time.

“But they’re really young right now and I have that as an advantage, because they don’t really know when I’m not there. But that time is coming and I’ll do my best to balance and they will come first.”

Kristen previously gushed about the joy of spending time with her “amazing” twins during the coronavirus pandemic. She said: “I’ve been waiting for these two little ones for so long and they’re my light, I could cry. But we’re in the middle of this horrible time but it’s hard… I’m really grateful and trying to see the positives of being home and all that. I couldn’t be happier and they’re amazing.”

Amazon´s incoming CEO Andy Jassy owns more Amazon stock than any employee except Jeff Bezos. And He’s Still Not A Billionaire.

OHMYGOSSIP – As Amazon founder Jeff Bezos noted in his letter to employees on Tuesday, his chosen successor Andy Jassy has worked at the company almost as long as he has. When Jassy joined in 1997, three years after its founding, Amazon was a fledgling online bookseller with fewer than 300 employees and $32 million in sales, Forbes mediates.

The Harvard Business School grad would help come up with the idea for its cloud computing business, Amazon Web Services, and then spend 14 years turning it into the company’s biggest moneymaker, with a client roster that includes Netflix, Zoom and ESPN. The division did $45 billion in sales in 2020, up 30% from the previous year. It is far more profitable than the larger retail business, bringing in nearly 60% of Amazon’s operating income.

For his efforts, Jassy is nicely compensated, receiving $349,000 in 2019 and a security detail. But, relatively speaking, he’s received few shares in Amazon. The incoming CEO currently has just 81,500 shares, worth about $275 million. He has another $162 million in estimated cash and investments, from selling shares over the years, which gives him a net worth of nearly $440 million.

Enough for a lifestyle that is plenty comfortable? Yes. But it goes to show how hard it is to build wealth as a hired hand, even at one of the most successful companies on the planet, which boasts a market cap of $1.69 trillion. Jeff Bezos has maintained a tight grip on the company’s ownership since the early days, holding a roughly 42% stake when he took the company public in 1997.

Even after handing a quarter of his stock to his ex-wife MacKenzie in a divorce settlement and selling chunks of stock to chase other interests (i.e. funding his space venture Blue Origin, buying the Washington Post), he still has 53 million shares, or 11% of the company. That makes him the richest man on the planet, with a fortune of $195 billion.

None of Bezos’ other top lieutenants have become rich — at least billionaire rich — off the stock either. Take Jeff Wilke, Amazon’s consumer chief who started over two decades ago and was long considered the second-most important person at the company. He is worth around $400 million, based on roughly 49,000 shares and an estimated $245 million in cash from selling stock. Wilke announced last year that he would be leaving the company in early 2021.

“I don’t have a new job, and am as happy with and proud of Amazon as ever,” Wilke said in an email to employees. “We worked hard. And we had a blast. So why leave? It’s just time…Time for me to take time to explore personal interests that have taken a back seat for over two decades.”

Jeff Blackburn is another top executive with relatively few shares. He joined the company in 1998, after helping take it public the year before. He became part of Bezos’ “S-Team,” an inner circle of advisors, in 2006, and has led a number of businesses, including Prime Video, Amazon Studios, Amazon Music and Amazon Advertising. He is worth $345 million, based on about 67,000 shares and an estimated $118 million in cash from selling stock. Blackburn, likely also looking for a break from the intense workload, took a one-year sabbatical last year.

The only other person known to have cracked into the billionaire club thanks to Amazon’s fast-rising stock is family: Namely, ex-wife MacKenzie. The two married in 1993, a year before Bezos started selling books out of his garage. In a divorce settlement in 2019, she received 19.7 million shares, making her the third-richest woman in the world behind L’Oreal heir Francoise Bettencourt Meyers and Walmart heir Alice Walton.

Of course, not all tech company founders keep so much of the shares to themselves. Facebook has minted numerous billionaires including not just its three founders but also a few hired hands like COO Sheryl Sandberg and former vice president Jeff Rothschild. Eric Schmidt, who was tapped as Google’s first CEO in 2001, is another billionaire who didn’t found the company. But Jassy has plenty of company among tech CEOs who are not quite rich enough for billionaires club, including Microsoft’s Satya Nadella.

The Netherlands: The Dutch Royal Family will not take their annual holiday to Lech, Austria, this year due to COVID regulations

OHMYGOSSIP – The Dutch Royal Family will not take their annual holiday to Lech, Austria, this year due to COVID regulations. The Government Information Service (RVD) confirmed the news to Dutch news organisation ANP.

The royals will be abiding by Dutch health regulations and recommendations by Prime Minister Mark Rutte by not to holiday until the end of March. Austria also only has their slopes in the Alps open to their citizens.

Each year, the Royal Family takes a holiday to Lech in February where one of their two yearly photo sessions takes place. Last year’s photo call took place on 25 February. This year would have marked the 61st year that the royals would have visited Lech, according to the King’s calculations.

King Willem-Alexander, his family and the press have an agreement where the press leaves the family alone in exchange for two photo sessions each year – one in the winter and one in the summer. He and his family have appeared for photo calls every year since 2005 with the exception of 2010 when they were in Vancouver for the Winter Olympics and in 2012 when the King’s brother, Prince Friso had his deadly skiing accident.

There’s been no information on if a winter photo session will still take place in some fashion. At the moment, the Netherlands are in a lockdown until at least 2 March due to COVID-19. Other restrictions include a 9 pm curfew, restrictions on occupancy levels and the closure of non-essential businesses.

Monaco: ICYMI: Monaco’s Princely Family attend celebrations for Sainte-Dévote

OHMYGOSSIP – As January comes to an end, Monaco’s Princely Family have attended the celebrations for Sainte Dévote, the patron saint of Monaco.

Prince Albert, Princess Charlene, Hereditary Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella attended an evening ceremony on 26 January which involved setting fire to the Sainte-Dévote boat.

This officially begins the commemorations of this saint, with her relics brought to the boat, which was set up at the Quai Albert Ier on Port Hercule and blessed. The boat was then lit by the Princely Family. Hereditary Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella carried the torches to the boat and helped light it.

The next day, 27 January, Prince Albert and Princess Charlene attended a mass at the Cathedral of Monaco.

The Prince’s Palace noted that, “This year, given the health situation, a small number of faithful attended religious services with respect for physical distancing and the boat, usually placed in the square of the Sainte Dévote church, was set ablaze from the Quai Albert Ier.”

Sainte Dévote was a young Corsican woman who was likely born around 283 AD who devoted herself to God. She was killed during a period of religious persecution by Emperors Diocletian and Maximian around 303 AD.

Dévote lived at the house of a senator, Eutychius, who was ordered to surrender her when it was discovered that he’d been housing a Christian. When he refused, he was poisoned, and Dévote was tortured to death for her religious beliefs. Her body was ordered burnt, but a group of Christians saved her body and placed it in a boat bound for the African continent where they believed she would get a proper Christian burial.

However, following a storm at sea, a dove led the fishermen to Les Gaumates, which is located in what is now Monaco, and a chapel (Sainte-Dévote Chapel) was built in her honour. The Chapel was first mentioned in writing around 1070, though its original construction date is uncertain.

Dévote has been a source of inspiration in Monaco for centuries, and her life has inspired artwork, culture, religion, history, stamps, and even coins. During the reign of Honoré II in the 1600s, Dévote became the patron saint of Monaco.

The Netherlands: New photo released for Princess Beatrix’s 83rd birthday

OHMYGOSSIP – The Dutch Royal Family has released a new photo of Princess Beatrix to celebrate her 83rd birthday. The former Queen will celebrate her birthday with limited visitors to abide by the governemental advice regarding the COVID-pandemic.

Princess Beatrix was born on Monday morning, 31 January 1938, at Soestdijk Palace. She was given the names Beatrix Wilhelmina Armgard for both her grandmothers. She weighed eight pounds and was 52 centimetres long. Her parents were the future Queen Juliana and her husband, Prince Bernhard. She was baptised on 12 May 1938. Her five godparents were King Leopold III of Belgium, Princess Alice, Countess of Athlone, Elisabeth, Princess of Erbach-Schönberg, Duke Adolf Friedrich of Mecklenburg, and Countess Allene de Kotzebue.

Beatrix married German diplomat Claus von Amsberg in 1966, and they went on to have three sons together: the future King Willem-Alexander, Prince Friso (died in 2013) and Prince Constantijn. She reigned as Queen of the Netherlands from her mother’s abdication in 1980 until her own abdication in 2013. Prime Minister Rutte paid tribute to her saying, “Since her investiture in 1980, she has applied herself heart and soul to Dutch society.” She was widowed in 2002; Prince Claus had been ill for a long time. She has remained largely out of the spotlight since her abdication but does the occasional royal engagement.

Through her three sons, she has eight grandchildren.

Billionaires: Elon Musk is now the RICHEST PERSON in the world

OHMYGOSSIP – As his fortune continues to grow at an unprecedented rate, Elon Musk has now become the world’s richest person, officially overtaking Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos.

Shares of Musk’s electric-vehicle maker Tesla rose by another 8.2% as of 11:30 a.m. EST on Friday, pushing Musk’s net worth up by $12.5 billion, to $189.7 billion. That makes him the wealthiest person on the planet, according to Forbes’ estimates.

Despite a report from Bloomberg earlier this week claiming that Musk became the world’s richest person on Wednesday, by Forbes’ calculations, the Tesla chief didn’t officially take the number one spot until Friday morning. He’s now nearly $5 billion ahead of the former world’s number one, Jeff Bezos, who has a net worth of $185 billion as of 11:30 a.m EST.

Musk initially overtook Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg (who is worth $96.9 billion today) to become the world’s fourth-richest person in early November, then surpassed Microsoft cofounder Bill Gates (worth $122 billion today) for the number three spot. A month later, Musk leapfrogged over French luxury tycoon Bernard Arnault (worth $154.8 billion today) to become the world’s second-richest person.

Tesla’s billionaire CEO has added $165 billion to his fortune since March 2020, when he was worth $24.6 billion. Much of that increase is thanks to Tesla’s skyrocketing share price, which rose more than 720% in 2020. It has gained another 20% in the first week of 2021.

Twitter permanently bans Donald Trump

OHMYGOSSIP – Twitter has permanently suspended President Donald Trump’s account (realdonaldtrump), the company announced Friday, a striking move that comes as the social media network faced growing pressure to remove him following the deadly Capitol riots earlier this week.

Key Facts

Twitter said it decided to ban the president “due to the risk of further incitement of violence” after a review of his recent tweets.

Though Twitter has long been criticized for not doing enough to stem the spread of misinformation and hate speech on Trump’s account, the last few days have ratcheted up pressure from prominent figures in tech, Democrats, as well as Twitter’s own employees, for a permanent ban.

Up until this point, Twitter had only locked Trump’s account for 12 hours over tweets where he said he “loved” the rioters and explained the insurrection as “things and events that happen when a sacred landslide election victory is so unceremoniously & viciously stripped away.”

After the suspension expired, Trump used Twitter to call his supporters “American Patriots,” say the MAGA movement will have a “GIANT VOICE long into the future” and indicate he would skip Joe Biden’s inauguration.

Twitter said those tweets prompted the ban because they are being interpreted by his supporters as a veiled plan to “continue to support, empower, and shield those who believe he won the election,” especially considering “plans for future armed protests have already begun proliferating on and off-Twitter.”

Crucial Quote

“President Trump’s statement that he will not be attending the Inauguration is being received by a number of his supporters as further confirmation that the election was not legitimate and is seen as him disavowing his previous claim made via two Tweets  by his Deputy Chief of Staff, Dan Scavino, that there would be an ‘orderly transition’ on January 20th,” Twitter said in its assessment of his final tweets.

China’s billionaire Jack Ma has mysteriously dropped off the radar

OHMYGOSSIP – News of Alibaba cofounder Jack Ma’s disappearance from public view has driven heated speculation across social media in recent days. The whereabouts of the billionaire entrepreneur are unknown and Alibaba isn’t commenting, Forbes mediates.

Formerly China’s richest person, Ma’s last public sighting was at Shanghai’s Bund Summit in late October, where he criticized Chinese regulators for stifling innovation. By early November, he was reportedly summoned to a meeting with Chinese authorities, who then pulled the plug on the planned IPO of his fintech giant, Ant Group, on November 3, just two days before it was slated to begin trading. Alibaba is now under investigation for monopolistic behavior, according to a statement from the government’s market supervision arm. And the billionaire has not been spotted since late October. Alibaba and Ant Group did not respond to Forbes’ request for comment. In a report on Tuesday, citing a person familiar with the matter, CNBC reported that Ma was not missing, just laying low.

“The big picture seems to be that [Ma] got too big for his britches, both in independent speech as well as in actual financial power,” says Andrew Nathan, a Columbia University professor who focuses on Chinese politics. “So whether he was detained or voluntarily laying low, either one is a version of the Party reasserting its absolute power.”

Ma’s absence from the public sphere is part of a larger pattern. As Forbes has reported before, in recent years at least half a dozen other billionaires and wealthy businessmen have vanished from public life for a period of time after running afoul of the Chinese Communist Party.

Princess Märtha Louise of Norway to have her own TV series

OHMYGOSSIP – Princess Märtha Louise of Norway, daughter of King Harald and the fourth in line to the Norwegian throne, will have her own TV series next year. Norway’s largest commercial TV-channel “TV2” will follow the Princess’s life both at work and in private. The TV channel promises a documentary series that provides “a unique encounter with a warm person like you have never seen her before”.

Princess Märtha Louise stated in a press release via TV 2 : “I am a public figure and the press writes a lot about me. This series is an opportunity to show my life in a different and new way. I can open up in front of the camera, but I am also concerned with honesty, and that one does not contribute to speculation about me and my life”.

Princess Märtha Louise also points out that 2020 has been a demanding year for the family after the Princess’ ex-husband Ari Behn took his own life on Christmas Day last year. This is something she and the couple’s three daughters are strongly influenced by.

Princess Märtha Louise continues: “The most important thing I do is to be present for my daughters. We are a family in grief, and in addition, we have become very isolated, like most others in Norway. We have therefore just started with the recording of the series”.

Earlier this year, Märtha Louise had to live a long-distance relationship with her new boyfriend, Shaman Durek Verrett as a result of coronavirus restrictions. The couple recently got to see each other again for the first time in six months. On the occasion of Märtha Louise’s birthday on 22 September, Verrett was finally able to visit Norway. He is still present in Norway. TV 2 confirmed to the Norwegian press that both Shaman Durek and Princess Märtha Louise’s three daughters will appear in the documentary series.

The series with the name “Martha” will premiere some time in 2021.

Princess Madeleine’s children book “Stella and the Secret” translated to Danish

OHMYGOSSIP – Last year, in the summer of 2019, Princess Madeleine of Sweden launched her children’s book “Stella and the Secret”. Since then, there has been speculation as to whether Princess Madeleine’s children’s book would be translated into other languages.

Princess Madeleine surprised many when she released a children’s book last year, which she wrote together with her friend Karini Gustafsson-Teixeira. When she was on a visit to Sweden during the summer of 2019, the days were marked by the book release and many book signings – including one on National Day at the Royal Palace.

Princess Madeleine has spoken about how proud she of her book saying: “There is nothing better than coming home to this fresh air. This is the best time ever. And I am so proud of my book and that it is now in the bookstore.”

Stella och hemligheten by Madeleine Bernadotte

Earlier this summer, it was revealed that the book would be translated but not into which language. It has now been revealed that it will be Danish children who will be the first to read Madeleine’s book in their own language outside Sweden. The book was launched this week in Denmark by the publisher Turbine. The book is already available for purchase at online retailers in Denmark.

The book is about a girl, Stella, who moves from New York to Sweden and is faced with difficult situations. The first part of the book covers what it is like to travel to a new country, make new friends and start a new school. The authors believe that many children will be able to recognise themselves in her. Ultimately, it is about getting children to stand up for themselves, find their inner strength and say no if something feels wrong. It also covers what it means to be a good friend and the difference between good and bad secrets.

Princess Madeleine last year also shared a photo on her Instagram and Facebook pages where she was recording words of welcome for the audio version of the book. The sales in Sweden has been very well as the book quickly became in the top three most sold books of the publisher, Bonnier Carlsen. Proceeds from the book have gone to the World Childhood Foundation.

Carrie Underwood wants to inspire women

OHMYGOSSIP — Carrie Underwood wants to inspire women to realise they don’t have to sacrifice their dreams to raise a family. The ‘Before He Cheats’ hitmaker has been joined on her ‘Cry Pretty Tour 360’ by her husband Mike Fisher and their sons Isaiah, four, and Jacob, eight months, and though she admitted it is “really difficult” to juggle her professional and personal commitments, she wants to set an example.

She said: “Women in this industry carry a lot on them. I think that’s something people don’t really think about. You see us on stage, and you see the rhinestones and the make-up and the hair; you don’t see all the hours that went into everything else. I feel like there’s a lot of women who feel like they have to give up [having a family] to follow their dreams, and hopefully they can see that you can juggle.

“I’m not gonna lie. It’s hard, but you get people around you who will help and be a part of your family. You can have it all. We are living the dream.”

And the 36-year-old star – who insists on attending to her baby son’s night wakings herself, even though she’s got a nanny and assistant on hand – admitted her own experiences have given her even more respect for the female singers she admired when she was growing up because now she understands just how tricky things can be.

She added in an interview with USA Today newspaper: “I never knew what it was like to be a mom and a wife and a woman in this business until I became those things.
“It makes me respect those women that I grew up idolising even more, and I didn’t even know all that they had on their plate.”

Elle Fanning: Women are expected to be jealous in Hollywood

OHMYGOSSIP — Elle Fanning believes women are expected to be “super jealous” in Hollywood. The 21-year-old actress thinks there is such a “stigma” surrounding women in the workplace, but she thinks that in Hollywood, all women are told to pit themselves against one another.

She said: “There is a stigma placed on women in any workplace. But especially in Hollywood. You must be super competitive and super jealous. And it’s something that people want to project, but it’s actually not the case.”

The ‘Maleficent: Mistress of Evil’ star had a passion for acting from a young age and her and sister Dakota Fanning used to act scenes together in their house. She added: “Well, I saw my sister doing it and I was a huge ham growing up. We would constantly put on these scenes around the house. It wasn’t for anyone, only for ourselves. We would do lines, characters, it was very funny. It just felt right at home for us …

“We weren’t supposed to do this at all. My mom played tennis, my dad played baseball, my mom’s dad was a quarterback in the NFL. We were supposed to play tennis or something.”
Elle also opened up about Duchess Meghan and Duchess Catherine, praising the royals for “doing royal femininity very differently”.

Speaking to the November issue of Tatler magazine, she shared: “Kate and Meghan are doing royal femininity very differently. I can’t imagine being in the public eye like that. Every single move you make is critiqued. I like Harry. Isn’t he the fun one?” See the full feature in the November issue of Tatler available via digital download and newsstands on Thursday, October 3.
