Zoe Saldana's lessons for her children

OHMYGOSSIP — Zoe Saldana wants her children to know all about her roots.
The ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ star – who has 21-month-old twin boys Cy and Bowie with her husband Marco Perego – can’t wait to teach her kids about their heritage.
She said: “My husband is an immigrant. I’m a first-generation immigrant.
“It is a necessity for us to raise our children with our roots so that they can communicate with their grandparents but also so they can create some kind of empathy for human beings that do no look like them and do not sound like them and do not smell like them.”
And the 38-year-old actress also revealed she is keen to pass on her native Spanish language to her kids.
Speaking on the most recent episode of her YouTube series ‘Rosé Roundtable with Zoe Saldana’, she added: “We didn’t realise that when we all address each other, we’re actually talking in the language that feels most comfortable, most familiar to us, which is English.”
Meanwhile, Zoe previously admitted she “cried every day” when she went back to work after having her children.
She said: “The first week back at work, I think I cried every day in my trailer. But I remember as soon as they would tell me ‘We’re ready for you on set,’ I would still skip to set. I love what I do. You do need to rest, you do need to have a moment to yourself, but right now this is my life as I know it.
“They’re 20 months old, and they’re starting to feel my absence. They still don’t really have an accurate concept of time, but they’re becoming a little anxious. And that’s when you ask people, you ask a therapist ‘Is this normal?’ You read books, you go on Google … But I always explain to them that I come and I go, but Mama has to work. I also make sure that they see me happy when they come visit me at work – they need me to lead by example.”

Calvin Harris: 'All hell broke loose' when I split from Taylor Swift

OHMYGOSSIP — Calvin Harris says “all hell broke loose” when he split from Taylor Swift.
The ‘This Is What You Came For’ hitmaker admits he found it “difficult” for something so personal as a relationship to “play out so publicly”.
He told the October issue of GQ magazine: “It’s very difficult when something I consider so personal plays out very publicly. The aftermath of the relationship was way more heavily publicised than the relationship itself. When we were together, we were very careful for it not to be a media circus. She respected my feelings in that sense. I’m not good at being a celebrity.
“But when it ended, all hell broke loose. Now I see that Twitter thing as a result of me succumbing to pressure. It took me a minute to realise that none of that matters. I’m a positive guy. For both of us it was the wrong situation. It clearly wasn’t right, so it ended, but all of the stuff that happened afterwards.”
Soon after the pair split, the 32-year-old DJ took to Twitter to claim Taylor was trying to “tear him down”.
In a series of tweets, he wrote: “Hurtful to me at this point that her and her team would go so far out of their way to try and make ME look bad at this stage though. I figure if you’re happy in your new relationship you should focus on that instead of trying to tear your ex bf down for something to do.
“I know you’re off tour and you need someone new to try and bury like Katy ETC but I’m not that guy, sorry. I won’t allow it. Please focus on the positive aspects of YOUR life because you’ve earned a great one. God bless everyone have a beautiful day (sic).”

Madonna and Guy Ritchie settle custody battle over son

OHMYGOSSIP — Madonna and Guy Ritchie have reportedly settled their custody battle over Rocco Ritchie.
The ‘Living For Love’ hitmaker and ‘The Man from U.N.C.L.E.’ star were expected in court on Wednesday (07.09.16) to thrash things out but they are said to have now informed the judge that they have come to an agreement regarding their son.
The settlement is being kept confidential but it is thought that Rocco will stay with Guy in London for school and Madonna will be able to see her son regularly throughout the year, TMZ reports.
Meanwhile, Madonna previously described her son as a “wild child”.
Writing a birthday message for him, she shared: “Happy Birthday Wild Child! Time waits for no one!! … Once my baby always my baby. Happy Sweet 16! …
“Happy Birthday to my First Born Son! A true Warrior with a beautiful Heart. Let the Sun shine (sic)”
Meanwhile, it was previously claimed that Madonna had hired a specialist in teenage psychology to help her build bridges with Rocco.
A source shared: “She’s been advised not to confront him with all her concerns, but to be relaxed and talk about other, ‘non-provocative’ subjects.
“She has also been told not to confuse her agenda with her ex-husband and his wife Jacqui Ainsley with her relationship with her son.
“She has to accept Rocco adores his father and if she continues slagging Guy off, which she has done so publicly, all she is doing is more and more damage to her bond with Rocco.”

Laverne Cox: Beyonce taught me hard work

OHMYGOSSIP — Laverne Cox says Beyonce taught her the importance of working hard.
The ‘Orange Is The New Black’ star looks up to the ‘Run The World’ hitmaker and has praised her amazing work ethic.
She said: “Beyonce represents excellence. Her work ethic is like nobody else I’ve ever seen.
“There were so many moments when I was shooting ‘Rocky Horror’ and I’d be exhausted. My body would be hurting and I’d be like, ‘Beyonce. Beyonce does this.’ You have to just put in the work.”
And the 32-year-old actress also revealed she is a huge fan of Tina Turner and her songs.
She told America’s Cosmopolitan magazine: “The pain, pleasure, and agony of all she’s been through is in her voice. Her story is the story of so many black women who’ve endured abuse and come out the other side in such a brilliant, beautiful way.”
Meanwhile, Laverne previously admitted she still feels as though she has a lot to prove in her life.
She shared: “It’s wild that I’m a black transgender woman who was born in Mobile, Alabama, raised by a single mother, and my life has gotten much bigger than I ever could have imagined. Being able to have a career as an actress, being a black woman and being trans, I have stuff to prove.”
And whilst the actress used to keep quiet before, she is now happy to talk about being transgender.
She added: “There is power in accepting and owning my story. For years, I was trying to have an acting career and I thought I needed to not talk about being trans. I needed to try everything I could not to seem trans.
“I fully embraced and accepted being trans and stopped looking at it as a deficit and started looking at it as something that made me special and unique … All of those things that might be flaws, that we think are flaws, I believe our power is there.”

Gavin Rossdale dating again

OHMYGOSSIP — Gavin Rossdale is dating Tiger Woods’ ex-wife.
The Bush rocker – who split from Gwen Stefani last year amid claims he had been unfaithful – was set up on a date with Elin Nordegren in Los Angeles late last month by mutual friends, and things went well between them.
And though Elin – who has children Sam, nine, and Charlie, seven, with her golfer ex-husband – is based in Florida, she and 50-year-old Gavin are keen to see one another again.
A source told Us Weekly magazine: “Elin flies to L.A. on her private plane a lot. They want to make it work.”
While Gavin has stayed largely silent since he and Gwen split last summer after 14 years of marriage, it was recently revealed they have no issues with co-parenting their sons,
10, Zuma, seven, and Apollo, two, whom they share joint custody of.
A source said recently: “Gwen and Gavin are getting along fine. They haven’t had any problems getting along when it comes to their boys.”
And though she’s found love again with Blake Shelton, the No Doubt singer recently admitted she is still “heartbroken” over the end of her marriage to the ‘Swallowed’ singer.
Gwen said: “I’m not in a different place yet. I’m still heartbroken. You can’t have your family break up and still not be going through it a year later. I was just cleaning out a room in my house before I called you. It’s devastating.”
And the 46-year-old singer described the devastating split as an “earthquake”.
She said: “There was so much of an earthquake in my life. How did I survive that? I don’t know, but here we are and my life is full of so many blessings. I’m trying to really just be positive and grateful and look at it all, like this was all supposed to happen.”

Bruce Springsteen's battle with depression

OHMYGOSSIP — Bruce Springsteen was left “crushed” when he was diagnosed with clinical depression.
The 66-year-old rocker has spoken openly about his struggle with the mental illness and particularly how it affected him around the release of his 2012 LP ‘Wrecking Ball’, which includes a song titled ‘This Depression’.
In his forthcoming memoir ‘Born to Run’, he writes: “I was crushed between 60 and 63 to 64. Not a good record. Not a good record.”
Bruce – who has three children with wife Patti Scialfa – also discussed about how his 63-year-old spouse has dealt with his illness during their 25 year marriage.
He wrote: “Patti will observe a freight train bearing down, loaded with nitroglycerin and running quickly out of track. She gets me to the doctors and says, ‘This man needs a pill.'”
And while Patti finds it uneasy reading about Bruce’s mental health struggles, she accepts that by writing about his issues it acts as a form of therapy for him.
In a join interview with her husband for the latest issue of Vanity Fair magazine, Patti said: “If I’m being honest, I’m not completely comfortable with that part of the book, but that’s OK.
“That’s Bruce. He approached the book the way he would approach writing a song, and a lot of times, you solve something that you’re trying to figure out through the process of writing – you bring something home to yourself.
“So in that regard, I think it’s great for him to write about depression. A lot of his work comes from him trying to overcome that part of himself.”
The ‘Hungry Heart’ hitmaker also discusses his father’s battle with depression and how it impacted on their relationship in the book.
He told the publication: “You don’t know the illness’ parametres. Can I get sick enough to a where I become a lot more like my father than I thought I might?”
Bruce’s ‘Born to Run’ memoir is out on September 27.

Clint Eastwood defends Sully crash dream

OHMYGOSSIP — Clint Eastwood has defended the ‘Sully’ scene which depicts planes crashing into Manhattan skyscrapers. The 86-year-old filmmaker insists it was important to include the dream sequence in the movie – which stars Tom Hanks as Chesley ‘Sully’ Sullenberger, the pilot who landed a commercial aircraft in the Hudson River in January 2009 – despite comparisons to the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

He explained: “It’s just a bad dream sequence, and what could have happened if he didn’t make the right decision.
“The spirit it gave back the city, even though it was a tragic loss of a plane, there was no tragic loss of life.”
Screenwriter Todd Komarnicki echoed the sentiment that the tale is the “inverted story of 9/11,” and allows Americans to “reclaim that narrative.”
He added: “That narrative was laid on us by people who are enemies of our country; this is a story of heroism in New York City.”
And the writer insists the release of the film on the 15th anniversary of the terrorist atrocity is purely a coincidence caused by logistics.
He explained: “It’s totally coincidental because of limited Imax screens … didn’t have room in the summer and Christmas is all ‘Star Wars’. Very ironic.”
Meanwhile, Tom, 60, can understand how the pilot felt when he was landing the plane.
He told The Hollywood Reporter: “His reputation was at stake.
“This man had done his job perfectly for 4 million passengers, and, as he says in the movie, his entire career was going to be judged on 208 seconds, as opposed to the thousands and thousands of hours he did his job perfectly.”

Prince William and Duchess Catherine’s choppy boat ride

OHMYGOSSIP —Prince William and Duchess Catherine enjoyed a choppy boat ride around the Isles of Scilly. The royal couple – who managed to make it to the various islands after they were delayed due to bad weather – visited Tresco Abbey Gardens before boarding a boat to St Martin’s.

Whilst at the gardens, the 34-year-old royal told the gardeners: “We finally made it. At least the rain is good for the plants!”

Robert Dorrien Smith, whose family has leased the island from the Duchy of Cornwall for nearly two centuries, was on hand to welcome the royal couple to Tresco.

Meanwhile, the royal couple suffered a setback on Friday (02.09.16) because of foggy conditions grounding their private jet. A series of tweets by Kensington Palace said: “The Duke and Duchess’s Visit to the Isles of Scilly has been delayed, due to poor weather conditions affecting travel arrangements … They still hope to visit this afternoon if weather conditions improve …They will now visit the Eden Project in Cornwall this morning, before travelling on to the Scilly Isle later today if they are able to.”

Meanwhile, Duchess Catherine previously revealed she “secretly” wishes she became a farmer. Bea Hodge, who spoke to the Duchess of Cambridge, said: “She said she was teaching George and Charlotte all about the farm at Sandringham. She’s been teaching George the difference between barley and wheat and everything they grow on the farm there.

“She wants the children to learn all about farming and the apples in their orchard. She said she’d secretly like to be a young farmer. And she said they’d really enjoyed all the cider today!”

Star Trek turns 50 next week: Here’s where to boldly go to celebrate.

OHMYGOSSIP – Warp speed, Trekkies — Thursday marks the 50th anniversary of the first televised episode of “Star Trek,” and to commemorate the occasion, some venues across the U.S. are boldly going where they’ve never gone before. Die-hard fans know that first show’s name (“The Man Trap”), plot (it involved salt), and massive amounts of other Trek minutiae by heart. But even if phrases such as “Beam me up, Scotty” and “Live long and prosper” are all you know about the science fiction show that spawned a decades-long entertainment juggernaut, you can’t ignore its place in popular culture.

It’s also why so many esteemed institutions are celebrating the golden anniversary with such gusto.

“‘Star Trek’ is today as much a part of our culture as Superman or Jane Austen or disco,” said Brooks Peck, a curator at Seattle’s EMP Museum, where the exhibition “Star Trek: Exploring New Worlds” will run through Jan. 31.

The house that creator Gene Roddenberry built “is constantly referred to in film, television, music and literature. People use ‘Star Trek’ metaphors to argue policy and in legal rulings,” said Peck. “And that’s because everyone almost universally understands the characters and themes of ‘Star Trek.’ It is a modern mythology, and its characters serve as modern archetypes.”

Parties marking “Star Trek’s” milestone are likely taking place in all quadrants of the galaxy, but there are a host of celebrations and exhibitions to check out here on Earth. This weekend, the Javits Center in New York is hosting a “Star Trek” fan fest with a packed schedule of photos ops, celebrity appearances, panel discussions, interactive exhibits and screenings.

A cosplay (costume play) competition and an auction of items belonging to the late Leonard Nimoy (who played the iconic Mr. Spock), will be part of the fanfare, and the convention will officially launch the U.S. Postal Service set of Trek-inspired stamps.

Through Oct. 31, NYC’s Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum is celebrating the anniversary with “Star Trek: The Starfleet Academy Experience.” Billed as an immersive “Trek tech” experience, the program will run the gamut of the show’s futuristic technologies.

From Sept. 16 to Sept 25, New York’s Paley Center for Media will be hosting “Star Trek: 50 Artists, 50 Years.” The traveling exhibit is filled with original artwork, including illustrations, photographs, sculptures, paintings and more by artists from around the world, including Nimoy.

Seattle’s EMP Museum features more than 100 artifacts and props from the five “Star Trek” television series, spin-offs and films. Included are set pieces from the original series, such as USS Enterprise command chair occupied by Capt. James T. Kirk (played by William Shatner) and the navigation console, costumes worn in the original series, and a 6-foot Enterprise filming model from “Star Trek: The Next Generation.”

In addition, the EMP will have a host of events that even include Klingon classes — the arcane language used by the hostile species Kirk and his crew faced in their adventures.

In Washington, a restored 11-foot studio model of the Enterprise used in all 79 episodes of the original “Star Trek” series was recently put on permanent display at the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum on the National Mall. The model is in its last-known filming configuration, used in the episode “The Trouble with Tribbles.”

One museum official explained to CNBC that the series had more in common with the real life development of space travel than might be apparent to the casual observer.

“There are instances of a very direct relationship between what appeared on “Star Trek” and the course of history in space exploration,” said Margaret Weitekamp, a curator of the spaceflight collection at the National Air and Space Museum. Nichelle Nichols, the actress who played Nyota Uhura in the original series, helped recruit more diverse candidates to the spaceflight program, Weitekamp explained.

The National Air and Space Museum also has three nights of special programming planned to mark the anniversary, with one event featuring Roddenberry’s son. On Friday, the museum will host tours, presentations, special guest appearances and film screenings.

And on the next day, the museum’s Washington location will host a Trek-centric program with “Star Trek”-themed selfie stations, sky gazing, special guests and presentations by museum experts.

Portugal win Euro 16 despite Ronaldo fall in 8th minute

OHMYGOSSIP – Substitute Eder (Éderzito António Macedo Lopes) scored in extra time to give Portugal a 1-0 win over hosts France in the Euro 2016 final on Sunday as they secured their first major international title despite losing captain and talisman Cristiano Ronaldo to injury.

Eder collected the ball in midfield, held off his marker and fired a low 25-metre shot past Hugo Lloris with 11 minutes of extra time left to stun the Stade de France after the home team had dominated the match.

Ronaldo, Portugal’s all-time leading scorer, went down after a heavy tackle from Dimitri Payet in the eighth minute but played on before being replaced by Ricardo Quaresma in the 25th minute.

France nearly snatched a win in stoppage time at the end of 90 minutes when Andre-Pierre Gignac’s shot rebounded off the post while Raphael Guerreiro hit the crossbar with a free kick for Portugal in extra time.

Opera singer David Webb to Ohmygossip.com: Pavarotti´s voice moved me and I realised I wanted to do the same

OHMYGOSSIP – “I want to be successful, I’d love to record some more music in the future and hopefully inspire people, like myself, who weren’t necessarily ok with Opera and Classical music to start with, to head to concert halls and opera house to hear the incredible world that Classical music has to offer,” talented and famous tenor David Webb, who is singing at the Roof Gardens in Kensington on the 24th August and who´s next show “Tristan Und Isolde” opens 9th June at English National Opera, tells Ohmygossip.com exclusively.

David Webb, please, tell us about yourself?
Hello! I’m David Webb, I’m 32 and I’m an Opera Singer (That sounds like the opening line of someone on Blind Date!). I’m also an Ambassador for Wellchild and Operation Smile Charities, I’ve created my own Christmas Charity Challenge called #carols4cancer for the Institute of Cancer Research and I’m a Brand Ambassador for EastClub London Suits and GC Watches.

Where and when you were born? Where do you live now? What you do for a living?
I was born in Plymouth but my whole family comes from Cornwall originally. I now live in London with my Fiancé who is an Interior Designer. I’m a classical opera singer with a twist.

Where and what you have studied?
I studied Music at the Royal College of Music and then further Opera at The International Opera School.

Let´s talk more about music. Where and when did your love of singing / opera come from? How long have you been singing?
I used to think Opera and Classical music was boring and not my sort of thing, but my brother took me to see Pavarotti in Hyde Park when I was 18 and it changed everything. This man’s voice moved people and I realised I wanted to do the same.

Are you a full-time or part-time musican/ tenor? (How does that affect your life? What are some day jobs that you have held? If any of them impacted your music career, please share an example.)
Having worked at a Fish and Chip shop, a removal man, an ice cream man and a barman, I’m very glad I’m just a full time opera singer now!

Where have you performed? What are your favorite and least favorite venues? Do you have any upcoming shows?
I’ve been lucky enough to sing Opera at the Glyndebourne Festival, English National Opera, Teatro Real Madrid, Opera Comique Paris, Russia, Spain, the Royal Albert Hall for the Queen and on the FA Cup Final at Wembley.

You are a famous tenor. Who are some of your own favorite musicans/ tenors /singers that you feel were influential in your work? What impact have they had on your career?
I love DJ Premier and Gangstarr, as well as The Foo Fighters, Michael Bolton was my Mum’s hero and so I used to listen to him all the time, but voice wise there are only two which I could really want to sound like, Pavarotti and Freddy Mercury.

What are your rehearsals generally like? Do you have a set time each week in which you practice or are rehearsals more spontaneous?
Depending on the size of the role you can be called as little or often as is needed. At the moment my next show at English National Opera (Tristan Und Isolde opens 9th June). I’m a very small part early on in the opera, so I’m only called now and again.

What has been your biggest challenge as a singer? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?
My biggest challenge is myself, I want to be the best I can be which means working hard and always asking myself is that the right sound I want and can I secure a better technique, etc – I’m lucky to have some great coaches and a brilliant singing teacher whose ears I trust!

What do you think most characterizes your singing? What inspires you? What projects are you working on at the present?
When it comes to singing, I try to make the most honest sound I can and hope that people like it! After Tristan, I head to Glyndebourne Festival Opera to work on Britten’s Midsummer Nights Dream and then Don Giovanni, before singing the role of Frederic at English National Opera next January.

What’s your ultimate direction as a singer? Are you seeking fame and fortune?
I want to be successful, I’d love to record some more music in the future and hopefully inspire people, like myself, who wasn’t necessarily ok with Opera and Classical music to start with, to head to concert halls and opera house to hear the incredible world that Classical music has to offer.

How can fans gain access to your music? Do you have a website with sample songs or a demo CD?
I’m on Twitter @davidpwebb and the same for Instagram – I’m pretty vocal and love a debate, mainly sports! Or http://Facebook.com/davidwebbtenor

What would you like to be doing five years from now? What are your long-term goals – how are you preparing yourself to achieve them?
I want to be singing Nemorino as much as possible and working harder than ever on my technique will allow me to achieve this goal without a doubt.

Who is your role model and why?
I’ve been fortunate to have had a number of strong people in my life, my Mum, singing teachers and rugby coaches, but my Grandpa was probably the classiest and inspirational man I’ve ever known and to be half the man he was would be a success for me.

What was the best advice you’ve been given?
Don’t stop working.

What do you do in your spare time? What are your hobbies?
I love going to the gym, cooking, eating the biggest and best burgers around and going to live sports.

Please name 5 interesting things/facts people don’t know about you…
1. I’m a Gemini.
2. I’m 80% Paleo
3. I hate Marmite
4. I love Oreo Milkshakes from Byron
5. I love Peanut Butter.

Helena-Reet to Metropoli: I lost my youth because of complexes, I keep saying “NO” to so many opportunities for only one reason – I am not comfortable with my own body

OHMYGOSSIP – Helena-Reet Ennet, the 37-years-old owner and queen of OHMYGOSSIP -sites is successful Scandinavian business women, designer and websites owner who stays in first page news in all over the Nordic coutries. Today she exclusivey unveiled to Metropoli, that although she is famous and successful, she has her own weeknesses. This is probably the most frank interview she never gaved about her, Metropoli.net mediates.

– I lost my youth, the most beautiful years and also a lot of possibilities, because of shame and insecurity… and I continusly walking the same road.. I have´t changed. I keep saying “NO” to so many opportunities for only one reason – I am not comfortable with my own body, Scandinavian most famous blogger tells to Metropoli.net.

– It is very easy to guide people and it is very easy to be strong in theory, but the real life is much  more difficult. I have two lovely daughters, husband, big house with even more big garden, many successful businesses, fame and contacts, so many people envy my life – but still,  I can tell you honestly, I regret so many things in my life… mostly the things I have not done and the things I still not do because of “social norms” and my own unsecurities. I am strong and week in the same time. And this is killing me!

– I am imprisoned in my own body. I hate to be in public places, I do not want to go to TV shows. I tell “no” to new TV projects not monthly but weekly – in Estonia, in Finland, in Sweden, in Brazil and in USA. Not many people got these opportunities. Many of the projects are week, but there are also very very good ones and I am so sad, that I tell “no” to these as well, because I don´t love my body. It is always the same — for years already — I´ll tell to TV power people, that let´s do this great project after half year, not now.

– Why do I do this? Do I really believe that I´ll look better – more attractive, more sexy, more nice – after half year? I am still me, only half year older, not half way slimmer. I should start to accept my body and appearance as I am. I know, many girls feel the same, but this is difficult, very very difficult, mostly because of the society norms – everyone should look like models. This norm have killed my social life and have took my youth!

Helena-Reet: I am invited as the VIP for many Hollywood top events

OHMYGOSSIP – Helena-Reet Ennet, the owner of OHMYGOSSIP -sites is successful Scandinavian business women, designer and websites owner who stays in first page news in all over the Nordic coutries. The girl who has over 5miljon Twitter followers told to Iltamakasiini, that she have more invitation to Hollywood power events than probably any other person in Scandinavia.

– I am in the so called “VIP lists” in all Hollywood, Miami and New York A-list events. Even more.. I often get payed if I´ll go there. Many copmpanies sell tickets to A-list events and they tease with celebrities and media. As I happen to be a power person in media, I got a lot of invitations and opportunities to A-list events.

– You ask me if I like this. Of course I like this, I love this, but unfortunately I do not have so many possibilities to visit all these events. I am the mother for two lovely daughters, a wife and a bussiness women – there is much to do all the time. So unfortunately, my time is limited and I can not visit all these great events but I am very greatful that I have this opportunity! I´ve met a lot of great people through these parties.

Helena-Reet: I’m very glad to be the best travel and entertainment blogger in the world!

OHMYGOSSIP – There are millions of bloggers in the world, but only a few of them can tell that their blog is successful business, that they earn with their blog. Scandinavian blogger and business woman Helena-Reet Ennet, who collaborates with numerous tourist offices, Embassies and high business leaders is an example, that bloggers can change the world and build their own media empires. Now Helena-Reet Ennet is named as the best travel and entertainment blogger in the world, Finnish media sites Iltamakasiini and Metropoli report.

– I’ve been running my entertainment & travel site OHMYGOSSIP  for 9 years now. There’s nothing wrong with blogging as a hobby. In fact that’s as far as most people get. Becoming a professional blogger is very difficult. More difficult than most people think. Well anyone can start a blog and become a “blogger”. The barrier to entry is small, which has benefits and disadvantages. For example there are currently ten-thousands of personal travel blogs online — so standing out from the crowd is tough.

– However my definition is those who earn a good portion (or all) of their income from blogging are considered professionals. This list is much smaller. If I had to guess, I’d say less than 100 people in the world make decent money directly from their blogs. Many make money, get free stuff, but I talk about serios business – there are under 100 persons in the world who can say that they earn with blogging… earn well /collaborate well/have made their names. Fortunately I happen to be one of them after years of trial & error attempting to turn my passion for travel & entertainment into a business.

– I own a lot to social media, mainly to Twitter. But this is not coming easy as well. I follow people myself every day, I make new posts and connections every day… you can not stop… You have to be present all the time. If you want to be big in social media, it needs continuously/daily work.  I am the girl who has the most followers in social media in Scandinavia today, but I tell you, that this is serious work. 5+ million followers are not coming just so.. with the finger flick. I build this business day-by-day, hour-by-hour… This is a serious work and it takes a lot of time!
