Billy Crystal loves having his acting skills ‘stretched’

OHMYGOSSIP — Billy Crystal enjoys being “stretched” as an actor.
The 76-year-old comedian stars in ‘Before’, a new psychological thriller mini-series, and Billy has revealed that he relished the challenge of making the show.
He said on ‘The Graham Norton Show’: “It’s a long way from ‘I’ll have what she is having’ for sure. But, at any time in our careers, it is great to do something new, to be stretched to do something different.
“I love this job, and I love being in this very dark, mysterious world.”
Billy has enjoyed huge success in his career. However, he still regrets rejecting a role in ‘Toy Story’, the 1995 animated comedy.
He said: “I was the dope that turned it down, but it wasn’t about the character, it was a business thing, and my agent said not to do it, so I passed. Then it comes out and it is genius.”
‘Toy Story’ remains one of the most influential and popular animated films of all time.
Billy confessed that ‘Toy Story’s success actually influenced his decision to join the ‘Monsters, Inc.’ franchise.
The veteran actor – who starred alongside Meg Ryan in 1989’s ‘When Harry Met Sally…’ – shared: “Two years later when the producers of ‘Toy Story’ first mentioned ‘Monsters Inc.’, I said ‘Whatever it is, say yes.’
“They convinced me by showing me a screen test they had done of me as Buzz Lightyear in the scene from ‘When Harry Met Sally…’ where I am yelling about a wagon wheel coffee table. They even had a little Buzz under the table. It was astonishing, and if I had seen that I would definitely have done ‘Toy Story’.”

Megan Thee Stallion ‘is the definition of strength’

OHMYGOSSIP — Nneka Onuorah has hailed Megan Thee Stallion as the “definition of strength”.
The 36-year-old director helmed the rap star’s Prime Video documentary, ‘Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words’, and Nneka has praised the “resilience” of the ‘Mamushi’ hitmaker.
Nneka told TIME: “Most of us say we’re strong, but we’ve never had millions of people every day lying on us, saying negative things about us.
“I commend Megan for her resilience throughout this process to still come out on top. She truly is the definition of strength to me.”
Megan, 29, was shot in the foot by rapper Tory Lanez in July 2020, and the chart-topping star has opened up about her struggles in the new documentary.
Despite her fame and success, Nneka believes that Megan’s story is still “so relatable”.
Nneka said: “This film is Megan’s open book into her heart during one of the hardest times of her life.
“It highlights how grief and depression can take a toll on your life and your experiences. There’s so much grief in the world right now, which is why I feel like this story is so relatable.”
In the documentary, Megan insists that she no longer worries about public criticism.
The rap star also suggested that she’s slowly rediscovering her old self.
Megan says: “I do feel like I’m getting in a place where I really don’t care. I only care about my damn self. For the first time since my mama was alive, I’m taking care of myself, because I want to feel good.
“Everything I do is for me. And I don’t feel like I’m operating at one-million percent now, but I definitely feel like I’m operating better. I do feel hopeful for what’s next for me.”

Zoë Kravitz ‘in high spirits at Halloween party’ in wake of Channing Tatum split

OHMYGOSSIP — Zoë Kravitz was reportedly in high spirits at a Halloween party in the wake of her break-up from Channing Tatum.
The actress, 35, and the actor, 44, are said to have split last weekend, almost exactly a year after they got engaged.
An insider told Page Six about how Zoë seemed unphased by the split when she attended a star-studded Princess Diana-themed party hosted at members’ club Chez Margaux in New York: “She was in a good mood and seemed really happy… dancing all night and having cocktails.”
The source added Zoë spent most of the evening hanging out with her actress friend Dianna Agron and didn’t leave until the early hours.
They said: “She helped close it down at 2am. (She was) having a great time and was so cute and nice.”
Despite Zoë and Channing’s split, a separate source told UsWeekly there was a chance the couple’s romance could be reignited by them working together on their next project.
The former couple are set to start filming the upcoming ‘Alpha Gang’ in spring 2025 and the insider said: “Film is their passion, so it could bring them back together.
“They thrive while being on set together and will be able to get through it. “Both of them are very professional and there is no bad blood between them.”
Zoë and Channing met in 2021 while they were working together on the actress’ directorial debut ‘Blink Twice’, which came out in August and saw her actor partner play a demented billionaire who abuses women on a Jeffrey Epstein-style island retreat by having them drugged before they are sexually assaulted by him and his rich guests.
A source also told UsWeekly about why the pair stayed together: “(They) are opposites, but they always bonded over their love for art and film, and that is what held them together.”
But the insider said once the making of ‘Blink Twice’ was over “they realised they were on different pages with what they wanted”.

Gary Barlow was in a ‘hole’ of food addiction and bulimia after Take That break-up

OHMYGOSSIP — Gary Barlow was in a “hole” of food addiction and bulimia.
The Take That singer, 53, fell into depression after the boyband split for the first time in 1996 and his solo career tanked – leading to him putting on so much weight he has described the period as his attempt to “kill off the pop star”.
He has now told the Daily Mail about how his life changed after he started adding to his family: “It’s a long time ago now. I came out of that hole when our second child was just born, probably the end of 2002.”
Gary, who has been with his wife Dawn since the 1990s, has three children with his partner – son Daniel, 24, and daughters Emily, 22, and 15-year-old Daisy.
The singer added about how he changed his life from his binge-eating days: “I discovered running, which wasn’t really something I’d ever done before.
“It was my antidote to everything.
“You’ve got to remember, this wasn’t a day and age where you could say, ‘I need help’.
“It was a very different time then, especially as a man and as a new father.”
“It was a time when I needed to be – on the outside – extremely strong and keep the house together.
“Even though I didn’t have a job at the time, I had to be positive for everybody. “So the fact that all this was going on underneath was really painful and I was on my own.”
Gary added about his addictive personality: “If you have a smoking addiction, you just don’t smoke. But with food, you’ve got to eat anyway, so you’ve got to work it out.
“Some years are better than others, but in general as long as I’m doing four things – sleeping, exercising well, walking a good amount per day, not drinking too much – food isn’t an issue.”

Sarah Jessica Parker raging after thieves stole her giant Halloween pumpkins

OHMYGOSSIP — Sarah Jessica Parker is fuming after she had her massive Halloween pumpkins stolen from her doorstep.
The ‘Sex and the City’ actress, 59, was targeted at her $35 million home in New York where she lives with her actor husband Matthew Broderick, 62, and their three children James and twin daughters Marion and Tabitha.
Pictures taken by the Daily Mail show Sarah’s house was left without her magenta and gold painted pumpkins this week after they were snatched from her stoop – leaving her with only a few candles and a single jack-o’-lantern as decorations for the spooky season.
She stuck a still from surveillance camera footage of the pumpkin robbers to the front of her door along with a sign that said: “Shame on pumpkin thieves!!!”
The actress also had her Halloween squashes stolen five years ago.
She posted on her Instagram in 2019 about the incident, saying they were pilfered after she carried them home from the Berkshires in Massachusetts for her doorstep.
Sarah said in an Instagram post at the time about being targeted: “All of our pumpkins were stolen, as were all the other pumpkins on our block.
“It is officially the Halloween heist of 2019. My husband stated, ‘Decency is dead’.
“But we will salvage the intended carving.
“We will find last-minute pumpkins and we will hope this case does not remain cold.’”
Along with celebrating Halloween, Sarah is gearing up for this week’s US Presidential election – and has said she will be voting for Democrat Vice President Kamala Harris.
She said about the reasons behind her choice: “For the love of my country, for our public schools, for books, for common sense gun laws.
“For a living wage, For opportunity, For women, For voting rights, For the Dreamers, For arts and culture, For my mother and senior citizens
“For our military, past and currently serving, For the climate, For hope, For friends and loved ones in the LGBTQ+ community.
“For freedom, For science, For affordable healthcare. For our union members, For democracy, For my daughters, For my son, For all of our children
“For equality, For dignity, For hope, For the constitution, For me, For love, For choice.”

Megan Thee Stallion left with phobia of playing live after she was shot in 2020

OHMYGOSSIP — Megan Thee Stallion was left with a phobia of playing live after she was shot in 2020.
The 29-year-old performer was injured by rapper Tory Lanez, 32, who was sentenced to 10 years in prison for shooting her in the feet during an argument – but many of his fans branded Megan a liar and she has now also told how she suffered horrific trolling despite being the victim.
Megan says in her new Prime Video documentary ‘Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words’ about the fallout from the violence: “Ever since being shot, I’ve had anxiety about performing. I always think somebody’s going to do something to me.
“So many guys online say, ‘You should have got shot in the head’, ‘He should’ve finished the job’, ‘He should have killed your ass’.
“I can’t separate trolling from real life. Am I safe to perform in front of thousands of people? I don’t know who’s in this crowd.”
Megan added about her mental state before Lanez’s sentencing: “I had a real breakdown. I didn’t feel like my life had any kind of value. I had to call 911 because I couldn’t breathe. I thought I was about to die.
“It was like three days in bed. I just cried every day. I never would have been a suicidal person… but I was feeling like that. I was like, ‘I’d rather not live through this than to have to live with this’.”
Megan also tells in her documentary how she “forgot” who she was after she took her mother off life support.
The rapper lost her mum Holly Thomas to a brain tumour in March 2019 and after she was hospitalised said she felt compelled to “pull the plug” on her as she knew her mother would not have wanted to carry on being kept alive while being braindead.
She said she was left in a “shambles” when her mother started having “back-to-back seizures” aged 47.
Megan – born Megan Jovon Ruth Pete – added: “They had to put her under. She was just braindead.
“So I stayed up there every day. I was spending the night at the hospital. I just was praying that she could shake back from it.
“Once I realised she wasn’t coming back, I was just like, ‘Damn, I can’t keep her like this’.
“Because I know she wouldn’t have wanted to stay like this. So I had to make the decision to pull the plug, and she just passed the next day… when my mama passed away, I think I really forgot who I was and I lost a lot of confidence.
“I was so used to my mama telling me what to do and when life started getting crazy I didn’t have her.”

Gary Barlow sings out of tune when he drinks

OHMYGOSSIP — Gary Barlow sings out of tune when he drinks.
The Take That singer, 53, has been open about how he was forced to overhaul his lifestyle after he began binge eating after Take That split for the first time in 1996, leaving him severely depressed – and the singer says he is now able to enjoy boozing as long as he keeps his life in balance.
But Gary told the Daily Mail in an interview to promote his range of organic wines about how he has to restrict his drinking if he’s performing: “(I only drink) after a show. I can’t drink before – it alters your hearing.
“I can’t tune once I’ve had a drink. But it’s consistently afterwards. We never miss an opportunity to celebrate.
“Mark (Owen) and Howard (Donald – his Take That bandmates) don’t drink, so it’s me and the team and the musicians.’
When asked if he owns a vineyard as part of his wine business, Gary replied: “Oh goodness, no. I don’t know if I’d love that, to be honest. The part I play in all this is to bring my audience a choice of what I think is the best wine in the world and make it affordable.”
Gary has sold 10 million glasses of his organic wine, and has been making a new television series called ‘Gary Barlow’s Wine Tour: South Africa’.
It sees him hanging out in vineyards, eating and cooking barbecue food with his pals including ITV presenter Ben Shephard as well as singers Mica Paris and Jane McDonald.
Gary said about the ITV project: “We drank a lot of wine and we had a lot of laughs.”
The singer told the Mail about his addictive personality that led him to previously binge eat: “If you have a smoking addiction, you just don’t smoke. But with food, you’ve got to eat anyway, so you’ve got to work it out.
“Some years are better than others, but in general as long as I’m doing four things – sleeping, exercising well, walking a good amount per day, not drinking too much – food isn’t an issue.”

Gwyneth Paltrow hails movie co-star Timothée Chalamet as ‘very polite’

OHMYGOSSIP — Gwyneth Paltrow has hailed her new movie co-star Timothée Chalamet as “very polite”.
The 52-year-old has spent years away from acting due to building her Goop wellness empire, but it was announced in August she would be starring alongside Timothée in an upcoming film project, and the star has now opened up about her experience on set with the 28-year-old.
She said on ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’ about Timothée: “(He’s) such a wonderful young man. Really, he’s very polite, very talented, just so nice to be with.”
Gwyneth and Timothée have been seen filming scenes together in New York City’s Central Park, including one shot in which they shared a kiss.
They are appearing together in ‘Marty Supreme’, which will mark Gwyneth’s first big screen role since she appeared in 2019’s ‘Avengers: Endgame’.
The movie is a fictionalised story partly based on the life of professional table-tennis player Marty Reisman, who died aged 82 in 2012.
‘Marty Supreme’ is directed by Josh Safdie, from a script the 40-year-old filmmaker co-wrote with Ronald Bronstein.
Gwyneth said in 2017 she was stepping away from acting to focus on Goop, which she founded in 2008.
Among her small roles since has been a cameo in a 2023 episode of ‘American Horror Stories’ and a part in 2022 film ‘She Said’.
The Oscar-winner also starred in Netflix series ‘The Politician’ from 2019 to 2020.
Gwyneth recently spoke of how she was going through life as a “empty nester” after she and second husband Brad Falchuk’s children left home for college.
The mother-of-two and her Coldplay frontman first husband Chris Martin, 47, have daughter Apple, 20, and Moses, 18, while TV producer Brad, 53, has children Isabella and Brody with his 54-year-old first wife Suzanne Bukinik, who he divorced in 2013.
Gwyneth said in a previous episode of Drew Barrymore’s show: “My son and stepson both went to college for the first time – they’re both freshmen – and my daughter and stepdaughter have gone already a couple of years ago.
“So the nest is empty and I feel like there’s this really grief-filled part of it and then there’s this part of it that’s like maybe I can explore, I don’t know, my own creativity again, or something like that.”

Ryan Reynolds ‘not so funny’ off camera

OHMYGOSSIP — Ryan Reynolds is “not so funny” off screen.
The ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ actor, 48, is renowned for making constant gags in his films and promotional interviews, but lifestyle guru Martha Stewart, 83, has now said it is all an act.
She said during an appearance on Bilt Rewards’ ‘Rent Free’ game show: “You want to know something? (Ryan’s) not so funny in real life.
“No, he’s not so funny. He’s very serious… he’s a good actor.
“He can act funny, but he isn’t funny. Maybe he can get to be funny again.
“I’m going to get in trouble. He’s my neighbour.”
Ryan and his actress wife Blake Lively, 37, own a $2 million home in Bedford, New York, near Martha’s 153-acre property. Martha became friends with the couple as soon as they bought their house in her neighbourhood.
She told the HuffPost in 2014: “(Blake) moved into my neighbourhood a couple of years ago with Ryan – before they got married they bought a house right around the corner from my house.
“And they started to come over, not to borrow sugar, but just as friends.
“They’re very friendly, very nice people. In a way, kind of shy – not shy on the screen, at all, if you’ve seen any of Blake’s movies – but very shy in person.”
Martha mentioned Ryan while trying to guess which celebrities would be most fun for her to hang out with.
Referring to Ryan’s masked Deadpool character, Martha added about the actor: “He’s probably on the list just ’cause he covers himself up in his movies and you don’t see his face.”
She said jokers Brad Pitt and George Clooney would be on her list of men she’d like to spend time with, adding: “I’d like to hang out with those guys. George is really nice to hang out with.”
George and Brad are famous for playing practical jokes on each other and joking around on and off set together.

Duke and Duchess of Sussex ‘have invested millions of dollars in new Portugal home’

OHMYGOSSIP — The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are said to have invested millions of dollars in a new Portugal home.
Prince Harry, 40, and his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, 43, who have children Archie, five, and Lilibet, three, have spent years living in their mansion in Montecito, California, but are now said to have pumped a huge chunk of their fortune into expanding their portfolio.
A source told The Sun: “They’re being smart with their money.”
The newspaper reported the Sussexes’ new home abroad is “around the corner from Harry’s cousin Princess Eugenie and her husband”.
But the publication said the pair “do not plan to live in their new pad”.
It added it is not known if the property will be rented out, used for family holidays or is simply an investment.
It added the apparent purchase is being seen as “the first step of putting earnings from their TV and book deals into a global property empire”.
Harry and Meghan have made $97 million from streaming giant Netflix for their six-part series about their family life and infamous ‘Megxit’ departure from the royals.
The prince also banked a $20 million advance for his autobiography ‘Spare’ and inherited $10 million from the late Queen Mother after he hit 40 in September.
Yet there have been reports there are concerns the Sussexes are burning through their cash with a lavish US lifestyle that includes private security in America and for Harry when he visits the UK.
They are also still paying a huge mortgage on their $14.2 million Montecito mansion, which they purchased after leaving Britain and official royal duties in 2020.
The Sun added insiders say the pair’s Portugal home “will be part of a financial portfolio which will include more real estate”.
Meghan is also set to bolster their finances by launching a Goop-style wellness site, set to sell everything from jam to yoga mats.

Late Queen Elizabeth II to make surprise Hollywood movie cameo

OHMYGOSSIP — The late Queen Elizabeth II is making a surprise Hollywood movie cameo.
Her Majesty, who died aged 96 on 8 September 2022 at her beloved Balmoral estate in Scotland, will be appearing in ‘Paddington in Peru’ when it is released on 8 November after a seven-year wait since ‘Paddington 2’ was released about the marmalade-loving bear.
The late monarch was famed for her sense of fun when it came to getting involved in Hollywood stunts – appearing with Daniel Craig in a James Bond sketch to mark the start of the London Olympics in 2012.
She also sat down with a version of Paddington for tea and a marmalade sandwich for a skit filmed for her 2022 Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
A section of the footage of her with the CGI bear will make up her cameo in ‘Paddington 3, which will star ‘The Crown’ actress Olivia Colman.
Approval from Buckingham Palace was needed to use the Paddington footage featuring the Queen, and the producer of ‘Paddington 3’ said the royal family was “very happy for it to happen”.
Ron Halpern, head of global productions at Studiocanal, which is behind the bear film, added to Variety its use came “with the consent and agreement of the royal household”.
Producer Rosie Alison added to the publication: “(The royal family) were actually very happy for it to happen.
“But we don’t like to make a big deal of it, because Paddington’s obviously a very modest fellow.”
Olivia, 50, said she “signed without hesitation” to appear in ‘Paddington 3’, and will return to the franchise to play nun the Reverend Mother.
She said: “Paddington is just the best person in the whole wide world. Imagine if everyone was like Paddington – wouldn’t that be lovely?”
The film will follows the iconic bear, which is animated and voiced by actor Ben Whishaw, 44, as he travels abroad to visit Aunt Lucy in his homeland of Peru.

Robbie Williams ‘could rejoin Take That’

OHMYGOSSIP — Robbie Williams could return to Take That.
The singer, 50, found fame as a member of the pop group from 1990 to 1995, before he launched a solo career in 1996 after years of fallouts with his bandmate Gary Barlow.
But Gary has now told how there is a chance Robbie could make a comeback in the group, which reformed as a four-piece in 2005 with the singer – before the group became a trio in 2014 after Jason Orange, 54, left for a life out of the spotlight.
Gary told the Daily Mail about how he and bandmates Mark Owen, 52, and Howard Donald, 56, could again be joined by Robbie: “Will there be five again? Could be. Will there be four again? Probably. Who knows?
“The phone rings and it could mean anything, but that’s the thrill. We’re all mates.
“We all talk, some more than others. The chances of the five of us happening I would say are slim.
“Robbie coming back? I could see that. So there.”
When told by his interviewer a return by Robbie would “thrill the fans”, Gary replied: “Well, it thrills me.”
Gary also told how he, Mark and Howard don’t tone down their dance routines on tour despite their age.
He said: “I feel like we’re scaling it up! We’re dripping with sweat when we come off.”
Gary – who spent years battling his yo-yo weight – added about his preparation for Take That shows: “If we’re about to go on a long tour then it’s cardio-based, because I’ve got to sing while I’m moving around.
“I need to be able to take a deep breath and it lasts me a few lines.
“Otherwise I’m on the weights and balance work. I do regular saunas, I do ice baths every day. They are a buzz. I love the pain.”

Jessica Simpson celebrates seven years of sobriety

OHMYGOSSIP — Jessica Simpson is celebrating seven years of sobriety.
The 44-year-old star took to Instagram to share a poignant message about finding the “light” after deciding to give up alcohol seven years ago.
She wrote: “7yrs ago today I walked myself into the light of being alcohol free.”
Speaking previously about her struggles, Jessica told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “I don’t even know that person.
“That person was not feeling. Now I’m in the world of just feeling everything and, no matter what, even if it’s a sad emotion, I get through it quicker and I don’t hold on to it. So for me, eliminating alcohol was like eliminating fear.”
In her memoir, she insisted she was risking her own life “with all the drinking and pills”, and taking the decision to stop was “easy”, even if therapy was more of a struggle.
She wrote in ‘Open Book’: “Giving up the alcohol was easy. I was mad at that bottle. At how it allowed me to stay complacent and numb.”
And, earlier this year, she was forced to deny drinking again after a sweet post about her son Ace
The reality star rubbished the idea she had broken her sobriety after revealing her and her 11-year-old boy’s love for scratch card lottery tickets in a lighthearted Instagram post.
After a fan urged her to “stop drinking”, she replied: “I haven’t wanted or touched alcohol since October 2017 and it has been the best decision I’ve made for myself and for my family.
“Thank you for your concern, but you have me very misunderstood. Sending love your way.”
In her original caption, Jessica described her boy as “the kindest, most handsome” 11-year-old son in the world.
She wrote: “I’m gonna be a braggin’ Mom for a moment and just say that I have the kindest, most handsome 11yr old son on the planet.
“Fun fact: we both find lucky pennies randomly every other week and use them to WIN my scratchers together. Mama loves you Ace Knute Johnson- OH SO VERY MUCH!!!!!!!!”
As well as Ace, Jessica and her husband Eric Johnson also have Maxwell, 12, and five-year-old Birdie together.
