EastEnders seeking an executive producer

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘EastEnders’ is searching for an executive producer to work with Kate Oates.
The BBC One soap is on the lookout for an employee who will be responsible for the “editorial, production and financial management of the show”, just months after the former ‘Emmerdale’ and ‘Coronation Street’ series producer joined the channel to oversee the running of ‘EastEnders’, ‘Casualty’ and ‘Holby City’.
Outlining the role responsibility details, the job post on the BBC Studios website states: “You will have extensive production experience in primetime television and will be experienced in managing and inspiring a team to create their best work.
“You will consistently deliver fresh, original, high quality and high profile episodes of EastEnders to BBC1.
“You will understand and communicate the needs and views of the Senior Executive Producer, the department and viewers to the production team.
“You will have strong relationships with established writing talent as well as being a champion for new and diverse talent and ideas.
“The perfect candidate will have keen editorial instinct and creative flair.”
The BBC are looking for an experienced showrunner who will need to have “original and creative ideas for storylines and characters” and a “sound understanding of the broadcasting industry”.
The job ad states: “You will have an awareness of our audiences and the knowledge of professionals within the industry including writers, directors, production teams and actors.
“You will have an eye for detail and will have excellent communication, administrative and organisational skills.”
Kate joined ‘EastEnders’, ‘Casualty’ and ‘Holby’ as senior executive producer in August, and admitted she couldn’t wait to work across the three shows.
She said: “Working across ‘EastEnders’, ‘Casualty’ and ‘Holby City’ is an amazing opportunity for me to have creative input into three of the UK’s leading dramas.
“I’m excited about meeting the teams and talent behind each show and can’t wait to get stuck in and tell some unmissable stories.”
