Louisa Lytton’s EastEnders nerves

OHMYGOSSIP — Louisa Lytton would be a “nervous wreck” if she was joining ‘EastEnders’ for the first time.
The 29-year-old star recently reprised her role as Ruby Allen after 12 years away from Albert Square, and admitted she would be full of worry if this was her first stint on the BBC One soap, but when she joined as a teenager she was more concerned about what she to wear on the weekends.
She said: “If going into ‘EastEnders’ now at the age of 29 was my first big job I’d be a nervous wreck, but back then I was so young and more worried about my GCSEs and what I was going to wear when I went out at the weekend!
“Being young actually made me more resilient, and I was never particularly hounded by the press – I just felt like I had a cool job.”
Ruby’s rape storyline kicked off last night (09.10.18) when she confided in pal Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) about a night out, only to seem surprised when the former market trader told her she had been raped by one of the guys she slept with.
And while Louisa was well aware Lacey was still on the soap, she had to watch recent episodes to find out who the characters were after she was invited back – because she stopped watching the show following her 2006 departure, because it felt like seeing an ex again.
She added to RadioTimes.com: When I left at such a young age, watching it again was a weird feeling. It was like breaking up with a boyfriend and having to see them again. It left a strange, heavy feeling in my stomach.
“Obviously when I got the call I started watching again to know who everybody was. I can’t lie I was very excited Danny Dyer was there! It was a nice feeling going back and seeing people like Lacey Turner, Steve McFadden (Phil Mitchell) and Natalie Cassidy (Sonia Fowler) who I’d worked with in the past.”
The former ‘The Bill’ actress recently admitted she had played Kaiser Chiefs’ track ‘Ruby’ to get her in the mood for returning to the soap.
She said: “It’s been 12 years and it’s something I never really thought I would go back and do. It’s interesting to see what she’s become, who she’s become and what’s going to happen next with her. Just to see where her life goes.
“I played that Kaiser Chiefs track at home a few times and then I was back.”
