I’m A Celebrity facing fine for breaking camp restrictions

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ bosses could be slapped with a huge fine.
ITV has reportedly been threatened with a £110,000 bill by council officials in Australia after local residents complained that the broadcaster’s trucks and trailers – used to transport their crew and equipment to and from the set while the show is being filmed in November – had jammed a highway.
Tweed Shire Council in New South Wales introduced a maximum of 80 vehicles each day in a bid to reduce the amount of traffic on the highway and, although ITV is adamant it stuck to the limit, officials aren’t happy and are insisting they broke the rules because they didn’t factor in supplier trucks.
According to The Sun newspaper, Tweed Shire director of planning Vince Connell said: “They based their figure on hire vehicles and shuttle buses. It did not factor in suppliers.”
ITV was forced to install traffic monitors on a stretch of road close to the camp in the Springbrook National Park last year to prove it was sticking to the 80-vehicle limit, but when the footage was reviewed, the council reportedly found a number of breaches.
Members of the council are set to decided on the fine this week, while ITV has told them it will not be able to stick to the quota if it remains at the camp.
However, sources have said it doesn’t mean the show will necessarily have to move.
An ITV spokesman added to the newspaper: “We’re committed to working with the council and residents to get a satisfactory outcome.”
But that’s not the only thing ITV has to worry about this year as it’s not yet known who will be presenting the series as Ant McPartlin – who has hosted the show alongside his partner Dec Donnelly since the show’s inception in 2002 – has pulled out of all his forthcoming worth commitments after he was found guilty of drink-driving in March.
