Len Goodman films pilot for hotel TV show

OHMYGOSSIP — Len Goodman will go behind the scenes of swanky hotels for a new TV show.
The former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ head judge – who left the BBC celebrity ballroom competition after 12 years in 2016 – has revealed he’s lining up his next role after shooting a pilot episode for the potential project.
According to the Daily Star newspaper, he said: “You see all the swoozy bits and what happens behind the scenes, and I am trying to give it the Len treatment.”
Although it’s just been an initial pilot so far, the 76-year-old star is hopeful it will be picked up and turned into a fully-fledged series, which is yet to be given a title.
He added: “There is a plan to do a series but we will see what happens.”
It comes as Len’s ‘Strictly’ replacement Shirley Ballas is set to continue her role as head judge for the next series later this year.
Following months of speculation about the 57-year-old expert’s future with the programme, she’s now set to return for a second stint on the panel alongside Craig Revel Horwood, Bruno Tonioli and Darcey Bussell.
A source said recently: “Shirley and the BBC wanted to do another series so everyone’s chuffed they’ve come to an agreement. The whole panel is coming back. Viewers seemed to like the chemistry between them. It’s all verbally agreed. Formal contracts should be signed in the coming days.”
Although she has received a mixed response from fans and critics, Len previously revealed he thought she did well in the role.
He said: “I thought she did a terrific job. It’s always difficult to step in somebody else’s [shoes] – whoever they are, I’m not saying [the reaction was] because it was me. But it’s tricky. But, you know, she went her own way, she became her own person. I thought a lot of her comments were good and useful to people. I thought she did OK.”
