Ed Sheeran's Teenage Cancer Trust show

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Sheeran will perform at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the Teenage Cancer Trust gig series.
The ‘Shape of You’ hitmaker will take to the stage at the iconic London venue on March 28, completing the week’s line up, which also includes The Who, Paul Weller, Pet Shop Boys with Johnny Marr and Olly Murs.
He said: “It’s an honour to be asked back by the Teenage Cancer Trust for their fundraising week of live gigs. It’s such an important cause and one that I’m extremely proud to be a part of. See you on March 28 and let’s raise loads of money for young people with cancer.”
The 25-year-old singer had a triumphant return to the spotlight after taking a year away from the industry.
The flame-haired singer set rumours swirling he was making a comeback when he started to post blue pictures all over his social media accounts.
Ed’s blue posts were soon followed with a video of him holding a sign, saying “New music coming Friday” and from there, in a set of teasing Instagram posts, Ed announced the title of his two new singles – ‘Castle on the Hill’ and ‘Shape of You’ – as well as the name of his brand new LP, ‘Divide’.
The new music topped the charts following its release and Ed took to social media to thank his fans for their support.
He wrote: “Truly overwhelmed with the reaction to these new songs. I’ve never had anything like this, thank you for all your wonderful messages.
“Now please blast them out as loud as you can from every speaker you can find, as many times as you can!”
Ed’s new chart success and the announcement of a UK and Ireland tour came nearly a year to the day after he revealed he would be spending some time away from the spotlight.
He said at the time: “Hello all. I’m taking a break from my phone, emails and all social media for a while, I’ve had such an amazing ride over the last five years but I find myself seeing the world through a screen and not my eyes so I’m taking this opportunity of me not having to be anywhere or do anything to travel the world and see everything I missed. (sic)”
Tickets for Ed’s Teenage Cancer Trust show go on sale on February 17 at 9am.
