Ralf Little almost died during a parachute jump

OHMYGOSSIP — Ralf Little almost died during a parachute jump.
The ‘Death in Paradise’ star recalled doing an almost fatal tandem jump – a 2,000 feet jump above the Eiger Mountain in the Alps, nicknamed ‘The Murder Wall’ – where he was unaware of the danger they were in.
While appearing on the BBC Two programme, ‘High Altitude’, the 42-year-old actor said: “We could have plummeted to our death, there was a couple of lines twisted.”
“I’m going, ‘What’s he doing? Is this normal?’ And then he’s doing it again. I was thinking, ‘This can’t be right?’ But that was the joy of ignorance is bliss. I didn’t know anything was wrong. I just thought he was enjoying himself.”
“I’d always wanted to skydive and I’m a bit of an adrenaline junkie. So to be presented with an opportunity to do it was pretty special anyway.
“But also to do it right in between the mountains – there wasn’t a great deal of hesitation. I’d never even been up in a helicopter before.”
The actor – who shot to fame as a teenager by playing Antony on the classic sitcom ‘The Royle Family’ – described getting to the top as a “sensory overload”.
Ralf said: “It was a bit like sensory overload. Your body and your brain finds it so difficult to comprehend what you’re about to put it through.
“It was something a bit special – so far out of my comfort zone
“I’ll probably wake up in about four weeks’ time in the middle of the night, screaming.”
On his recent episode of ‘Who Do You Think You Are’, Ralf admitted to wishing he “got to know better” his World War Two hero grandad, Arthur, who was a vital part of the success at the Battle of Okinawa in April 1945.
He said: “That’s incomprehensible. Terrifying. He never talked about [what happened], I wonder if he went away from my gran and came back a different person after the war. But what an amazing story about my grandad.
“I had no idea he had such a tough life. He faced hardship a lot and he just took it, for the greater good. I wish I’d asked him about it. I wish I’d got to know him better. I guess I didn’t realise there was that much to talk about.”
