Rose Ayling-Ellis praises Maddy Hill following on-screen sister’s EastEnders exit

OHMYGOSSIP — Rose Ayling-Ellis has praised Maddy Hill as the “best on-screen sister ever” following her ‘EastEnders’ exit.
Maddy’s character Nancy Carter departed Walford on Thursday night’s (23.06.22) episode to move to Manchester, and ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ champion Rose – who plays Frankie Lewis in the BBC One soap – is sad to see her pal go.
Rose, 27, wrote on her Instagram Stories: “Love you @maddyhill90!!
“Best on-screen sister ever, I’m already missing you load [heart emoji]”
Maddy’s on-screen ex James Farrar, who plays Zack Hudson – who cheated on Nancy this week with Sam Mitchell (Kim Medcalf) – has thanked the departing actress for “looking after [him]” on the soap.
James, 35, wrote on Instagram: “You looked after me my mate Mads. Proper trust on set every single day. Thank you G”
Maddy, 32, has played Nancy in two stints since 2014, and following her Albert Square exit the star has admitted it felt like the “right time” to move on.
She said: “It’s been great revisiting Nancy and the Square over the past year but it felt like the right time to move on for now.
“I already miss everyone and feel so grateful to work with people I have so much love for.”
A BBC spokesperson said: “We wish Maddy all the very best for the future.”
It’s been a tough few weeks for Nancy what with her mum Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) continuing to battle alcoholism, and then she discovered Zack had cheated on her following a one-night stand with Sam.
Maddy first appeared as Nancy in 2014 before departing the role in 2016, and she returned to Walford last year.
She portrayed Ruby Spark in ‘Casualty’ for two years in between her two stints in the soap.
