OHMYGOSSIP — Orlando Bloom is fostering a new puppy after his dog passed away.
The 43-year-old actor took to Instagram to reveal that he is now fostering a one-year-old pooch named Buddy and shared a cute snap of the dog snuggling up to him.
Orlando captioned the post: “Time for a #cutedog photo plz meet BUDDY a one year old something and something mix nothing can replace mighty man, but fostering this little guy has really filled my heart.
“If you’ve never fostered or are considering, I’d highly recommend it – it leaves two being better off & remember what they say never judge a book by its cover – swip for the before photo… thanks to @tobiessmalldogrescue also the @labellefoundation for helping me to find my best ‘buddy’. (sic)”
The ‘Lord of the Rings’ star was left devastated in July when his dog Mighty passed away after going missing and even got a tattoo of his name inked over his heart.
Orlando revealed on social media that he “wept” more than he thought possible after discovering the heartbreaking news about Mighty.
He wrote on Instagram: “Mighty’s on the other side now. After 7 days of searching from sunrise to sunset and into the wee hours, today, the 7th day – the number of completion – we found his collar…
“I have wept more this week than I thought possible, which has been very cathartic and healing … I feel sure he was looking down on me whistling in every back yard and knowing that I was doing all I possibly could to respect our bond. He was more than a companion. It was a soul connection for sure. I’m sorry. I love you. Thank you. RIP my MIGHTY HEART my little fellow (sic)”
