Miss Earth Poland 2012 Justyna Helena Rajczyk’s interview for MissEarth.tv

What makes you proud of your country and what can you promote about it?
In Poland there are many things that I’m proud of. Firstly, Poland as a country has overcome many problems throughout history. I believe that we are one of the most courageous nations. The Poles have proven this courage especially in the Battle of Britain in 1940 and in Monte Cassino in 1944. I am proud that in critical moments, the Poles were able to unite and after all those painful experiences Poland still appears on the map of Europe. We have been shaping our history for many years. Poland has many well-known and respected artists and scientists. Polish mathematicians were the ones who decoded the Enigma code. Our Polish Nobel Prize winners such as Maria Sklodowska-Curie, Henryk Sienkiewicz, Wladyslaw Rejmont, Czeslaw Milosz and others, were among the most influential and important people in the world of literature, science and art. We cannot forget the brilliant musician Frederic Chopin as well. Among the very important people are Lech Walesa – a founder of Solidarity and Pope John Paul II, known worldwide as one who valued the good and peace above all. Poland is a country with many traditions. In each region has its own, unique culture. In the north of Poland are the beautiful Polish sea and beaches, in the center of Poland are the amazing lakes, plains, highlands that leads down to the magical mountains in the south. The scenic landscapes and rich culture were the reason Poland was made the host country for Euro 2012. In each of the host towns, the visitors experience the diverse traditions and customs. Many tourists love my country for the Polish hospitality and cuisine it offers. They value Polish dishes such as stew, pork chops, soup, great bread, delicious sausages and before all the dumplings. Moreover, I am proud of our Polish education. Although Poland is not one of the richest countries, we have very good colleges and universities, where everyone regardless of age or views can be educated. Even foreigners come to study at Polish universities, not only because it is cheap, but we have very well-designed schools and great teachers who live up to the high standard of education. Polish professionals are given international accreditation. Poland is a country full of magical places, filled with monuments of hidden secrets, beautiful landscapes, mysterious forests, meadows and rivers. These amazing places are our natural wealth. In Poland, to commune with nature you only need to go a few kilometers out of town. You will find many species of animals and plants that almost went extinct in Western European countries. Many tourists are impressed with our more natural habitat for fauna and flora that allows better understanding of the wildlife. We are proud to promote our national parks, forests or wilderness. All these make me feel good about my country and I am convinced that after visiting Poland many tourists will want to come back.

Describe your childhood/growing years:
When I was young I used to live in Nowa Sól, this is a small city west of Poland. I was very active and sociable. I liked school and gaining new knowledge. I was very curious of the world so my parents were always overwhelmed with my questions (about everything). For me there were no stupid questions! At that time, my parents had the biggest influence on me. They taught me a healthy lifestyle and showed me how to get through my adult life the right way.

What lessons did you learn from your childhood/growing years?
My childhood was filled with love thanks to my family. I am grateful to my parents for giving me everything necessary to grow up. I believe that education is essential and that every child should have an access to it. I’m glad to have participated in many educational activities. I have learned how a good organization works and realize that only through hard work can you achieve your dreams.

What is your most memorable moment?
I think that it is very difficult question. In spite of my age, I have had many memorable moments in my life. One of them is definitely my high school graduation and the beginning of my adult life in Poznań. This was the time when I was left alone to cope in a totally new place. For me, this was a turning point in my life, which influenced and strengthened my character.

Other information that you would like to share with the Miss Earth Management:
It’s an honor for me to have been chosen to represent Poland in the MISS EARTH pageant. I believe it would be a one-of-a-kind experience which I will treasure a lot.
