Fight Network launches in the UK

OHMYGOSSIP — Fight Network has launched in the UK as the new home of ‘IMPACT Wrestling’.
The new channel – which is dedicated to coverage of combat sports – is now available on Sky on Channel 192 and Freesat on Channel 161, and it has been confirmed that the show will air on the new network.
Ed Nordholm, president of ‘IMPACT Wrestling’, said: “”Based on popular demand, we are excited to announce that IMPACT Wrestling fans in the UK can now watch our weekly show contemporaneous with its North American broadcast premiere, as well as replays in primetime.”
While the show will air at 1am Friday mornings – at the same time it airs across the pond – there will also be later showings at 9pm on Friday and Saturday nights.
As well as the hugely popular wrestling brand – which boasts the likes of Austin Aries, Johnny Impact and Pentagon Jr. on its roster – Fight Network will feature a range of programmes.
Peter Einstein, COO of Anthem Sports & Entertainment Corp. – the parent company of the channel – added: “The UK is rooted in combat sports tradition, producing many world champions and memorable personalities over the years.
“Our diverse programming line-up will showcase premium combat sports content from around the world, while highlighting local stars and events, and we plan to bolster our schedule with more exciting content over the next few months.”
Other programmes will include ‘Ultimate Challenge MMA’, ‘Abu Dhabi Grand Slam’, ‘Wrestling at the Chase’, ‘WGP Kickboxing and more.
Fight Network is currently available on cable, satellite and digital platforms in the U.S., Canada and select countries in Europe, Africa and the Caribbean.
It will air each night from 9pm on Showcase TV, and in addition to Sky and Freesat, it can also be viewed online, by visiting www.information.tv/showcase and pressing play on the Showcase TV icon.
