Vic Reeves wants to revive Shooting Stars

OHMYGOSSIP — Vic Reeves wants to revive ‘Shooting Stars’.
The 59-year-old comedian and his TV presenting partner Bob Mortimer hosted the hit game show on-and-off between 1993 and 2011, and Vic is seeking a new channel for the programme, because the BBC is “not interested” in bringing it back.
Speaking about his ambitions, Vic is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper as saying: “It’s still very popular but I don’t think the BBC wants it so we’ll have to see.
“If we were asked to revive it, we probably would. Someone needs to ask us first.”
In the more immediate future, Vic and Bob are set to star in a full series of ‘Vic and Bob’s Big Night Out’ following the success of their Christmas special.
Vic revealed they were writing the series in January, with the show set to hit TV screens later this year.
Shortly after the Christmas special aired, Vic – whose real name is James Moir – said: “We’re going to start writing a full series of ‘Big Night Out’ in January.
“We’ll spend next year on it. ‘Vic and Bob’s Big Night Out’ is pretty much like ‘Shooting Stars’ without the guests. TV audiences are a lot older now so if you do a bit of nostalgia, it’s always going to appeal to them.”
The popular comedy duo first worked together on ‘Vic Reeves Big Night Out’ in 1990, and have since gone on to achieve success with hits like ‘The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer’, and ‘House Of Fools’.
