Nikki and Brie Bella want their sons to pursue wrestling careers

OHMYGOSSIP — Nikki and Brie Bella want their sons to follow in their footsteps.
The twins, who both recently retired from professional wrestling, welcomed baby boys within 24 hours of each other over the summer, and have now said they can’t wait until their sons are old enough to be introduced to the sport themselves.
In a joint interview for ‘Dr. Oz’, Nikki – who welcomed Matteo with her fiancé Artem Chigvintsev on July 31 – said: “I feel like there’s a built-in tag team here. And it’s neat because so much of the times sons follow in their father’s footsteps, and I think in this case, which goes still for Buddy with Bryan, but in this case, it’s going to be like the boys will follow in their mommy’s footsteps.”
And Brie – who gave birth to Buddy on August 1, and also has three-year-old daughter Birdie with her husband Daniel Bryan – added: “When we see them laying next to each other Buddy will kind of rollover and grab Matteo, and we’re like, ‘Oh, that’s a good lock or grab an arm.’ ”
Their comments come after ‘Dancing with the Stars’ professional Artem recently said Nikki and Bella could be set to join their sons in the ring one day.
He said: [Nikki] has been having talks about coming back and doing something together with Brie. They both have kids, and I feel like they still have this unclosed chapter with wrestling. I would not be surprised. Right now, it’s hard to tell because today he literally had this playground with the animals hanging and today, he tore the monkey.
“I was like, ‘Oh, my God.’ I can’t believe he just did that. But at the same time, he moves his legs so fast. Maybe a runner? I don’t know.”
The twins both revealed their plans to retire from wrestling within weeks of each other last year, with Nikki admitting she felt “too old to travel” for fights.
Speaking about her retirement, she said at the time: “I just feel like I’m too old for that travel. That travel was really, really rough. So I realised, I was like, ‘Why am I doing this anymore?’ I don’t feel good and I can’t – I mean, the girls are doing amazing things over there. I really am ready to hang up the jersey. Like, I can say it fully, [I’m done.]”
