Plan B are a young Puerto Rican group that began their career in the year 2000. Their first production, “El Mundo de PLAN B,” managed to sell more than 50,000 copies, achieving their first gold record and positioning them at a competitive top in the genre. Thereafter they began promote a different musical formula with a different sound and an original style, managing to remain to this day among the favorites among music fans.

Don Omar became one of reggaeton’s first international superstars thanks to “Reggaeton Latino,” his 2005 anthem that became one of the genre’s first genuine crossover hits. The music phenomenon and social media maven is now one of the leading artists on any genre worldwide with themost social media followers and millions of video views. His successful Hollywood film participations of late have taken him to true worldwide fame.

Arcángel is a reggaetón vocalist from Puerto Rico who began his career as a member of the duo Arcángel y De la Ghetto in the mid-2000s before embarking on a solo career. Born Austin Santos on December 23, 1986, in New York City, Arcángel first established himself in tandem with De la Ghetto with the song “Ven y Pegate” on the popular Hector el Father-hosted compilation album Sangre Nueva. Throughout 2005 and 2006, Arcángel y De la Ghetto were featured on a variety of reggaetón albums, including Luny Tunes’ Mas Flow: Los Benjamins, and were associated with Baby Records, the label of Zion (of the duo Zion & Lennox). However, Arcángel announced in December 2006 that he was embarking on a solo career and founding a label of his own. In the wake of Arcángel’s announcement, De la Ghetto embarked on a solo career of his own and made his major-label full-length album debut with Masacre Musical (2008). Meanwhile, the solo career of Arcángel sputtered at first. The lead single for El Fenómeno, “Por Amar a Ciegas,” became another hit for Arcángel and helped the album break into the Top 20 of Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart.

Tony Dize  AKA “La Melodía De La Calle”, is an American reggaeton singer of Puerto Rican descent. His first recorded performance was from the album “Blin Blin, Vol. 1”, with Wisin & Yandel in 2003, after which he collaborated with other artists of the genre and later released his debut album in 2008 titled “La Melodía De La Calle”under WY Records and Machete Music. He was previously signed to Pina Records, for which he released “La Melodía De La Calle: Updated” under the label in 2009. In November 2011 he is in contracting with DJ Memo, to join his record label after a fall out with Raphy Pina. After a fallout with DJ Memo he is now under contract once again with Pina Records.

One of the pioneers of reggaeton, Tito “El Bambino” was half of the trailblazing duo Hector & Tito before he embarked on a solo career of his own, signing with EMI Televisa and debuting in 2006 with “Top of the Line.” Hector & Tito may have been trailblazing, but they never attained the popularity and commercial success of Daddy Yankee and Don Omar, who were far and away the leading reggaeton artists of the mid-2000s. So when Tito went solo, he had some catching up to do. He did so quickly, as “Top of the Line” spun off numerous hit singles, including “Caile,” which topped the Billboard Tropical Airplay chart. In 2010 his song, “El Amor”, written with Joan Ortiz Espada, was awarded Latin Song of the Year by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP). He was awarded Songwriter of the Year at the 2011 ASCAP.

Originally dubbed “the Easy Boyz”, reggaeton duo Baby Rasta & Gringo debuted in 1998 with the album “New Prophecy”. Sales of the album were fair, but as numerous compilation appearances followed, the Puerto Rican act grew their fan base. By the time of their sophomore release, “Fire Live” from 2003, the two were known for their confrontational diss-tracks aimed at fellow artists, with Hector & Tito, Wisin & Yandel, Don Omar, and many other artists all “put on blast” by the duo. It all backfired in 2004 when the duo began feuding amongst themselves, resulting in a three-year split that would follow the release of their third effort “Sentenciados”. The Comeback was the title of their 2008 reunion album.

Tego Calderón is a Puerto Rican singer/songwriter and one of the main figures and pioneers of the reggaeton and Latin hip hop early movement. You can’t talk about the genre without talking about his work, the rejections he encountered and his efforts to give a name to the genre when it was just a concept. Tego Calderón is a living legend, hailed by the masses in Latin American, who get his message without the filters of the music industry. His success is not commercial despite his popularity. Within the genre he is considered the most popular MC. His style is direct, eclectic and keeps much of the sound of the 80s rap.

J Alvarez was born in Puerto Rico. His inspiration in music was rooted in English language hip-hop with groups such as “A Tribe Called Quest” and “Busta Rhymes.” He has become the first artist of the new generation with highly successful online sales, managing to conquer various countries in Latin America. Currently J Alvarez promotes his third album “De Camino Pa’ La Cima,” released on February. The album consists of 15 songs with collaborations such as with Zion on the single “Quiere Llegar” and Mackie on the song “Buscándote.”  J Alvarez released at the same time the Deluxe Edition in digital format which features the same songs as the physical album adding four earlier hit songs, “De Camino Pa’ La Cima”, “Soñar”, “Tu Cuerpo Pide Fiesta” and  “Sin Pretexto.”
