Emily Blunt staged bombed at Critics Choice Awards

OHMYGOSSIP — Emily Blunt shared a kiss with her husband John Krasinski on stage at the Critics Choice Movie Awards last night (15.01.15) after he ran on stage to congratulate her.

The 31-year-old actress shared a smooch with John Krasinski after he ran from backstage at the Hollywood Palladium in California last night (15.01.15) to surprise her as she picked up her Best Actress in an Action Movie prize for her role as Sergeant Rita Vrataski in ‘Edge of Tomorrow’.

After it was announced Emily had won, John shouted “yes” before running up to her and giving her a big kiss.

She then said: “He’s presenting next. Sorry, ruined that.”

Emily thanked John – who she has 11-month-old daughter Hazel with – for putting up with her during filming for the role, in which her character helped to train Tom Cruise’s alter-ego Major William Cage to improve his fighting skills, and joked she had tried some of Rita’s moves out on him.

She said: “Finally, to my sneaky husband, John Krasinski, for being OK with the fact that he was married to a veiny, sinewy wrestler for the duration of this film, and also coming up with my favourite line ever which was, ‘I’m terrified I’m gonna wake up one morning and you’re benching me.’

“Which I did, just to kind of freak him out.”

Emily also paid tribute to her co-star Tom and director Doug Liman at the ceremony, which was hosted by Michael Strahan.

She said: “I share this completely with Tom Cruise, who let me kick his ass every day. Doug Liman is extraordinary.”

Other award winners saw Julianne Moore take home the Best Actress prize for ‘Still Alice’, Michael Keaton won Best Actor for ‘Birdman’, which swept the board with seven prizes, and ‘Boyhood’ was awarded Best Picture.
