Nicky Hilton has created a clothing line with Canada’s eLUXE

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicky Hilton is collaborating on a new fashion line. The 30-year-old star has been busy promoting her guide to fashion, 365 Style, in which she offers tips and advice on how to look great all year round. Expanding on her knowledge, she has now teamed up with Canada’s eLUXE on a ten-piece capsule collection.

With a variety of pieces on offer, Nicky has tried to show all aspects of her personality through her range.

“I thought it would be fun to do a small little collection that’s very reflective of my lifestyle,” she explained to WWD. “I put something for every girl in this small capsule collection. I feel like I’m this hybrid of this New Yorker and Angeleno and so there’s this Upper East Side preppy-chic stuff and some California bohemian beach-girl stuff. It’s a mix between East and West. Oh, and for the sexy girl, too. There are little dresses – short dresses.”

Nicky was very hands-on during the designing process, using materials such as linen and lace for the pieces. One item is a black baby-doll with a white collar and long sleeves, finished with mesh detailing.

Duke McKenzie, the e-tailer’s chief executive officer, was impressed with the star’s determination.

“When she had her first meeting with us, she came in the doors with a complete mood board and knew exactly what feel she wanted and what items she wanted in the collection,” he said.

Pieces come in at $72 for a cami and around $118 for a dress. This venture follows on from Nicky’s already successful handbag, accessories and own fashion brand, which she has been running for many years now.

“I’ve always said in business that’s a double-edged sword. I would be lying if my last name didn’t open doors, but in the end, the product always speaks for itself. Product is king,” she added.

“I don’t really look to anyone for validation. I enjoy what I do, and I think I do a good job at it and that’s all that matters to me.”
