Rebecca Minkoff: My maternity wear is chic

OHMYGOSSIP — Rebecca Minkoff has created a line of maternity wear. The iconic designer, who recently showcased her Spring/Summer 15 collection as part of New York Fashion Week, has teamed up with motherhood clothing company A Pea in the Pod for a 12-piece capsule collection.

Her range is predominantly made up of black and white but also features splashes of colour such as berry and cobalt to give a more fun touch.

“I know how difficult it can be to dress and feel like yourself during your pregnancy,” Rebecca told WWD. “Your body is going through so many changes, that the last thing you want is to look in the mirror and hate your outfit.”

The brunette fashionista was pregnant with her second child, daughter Bowie Lou, while designing the collaboration. This actually enabled her to “tweak the designs” during the creating process, which Rebecca cites as a great advantage.

Items in the collection include chic easy pants with names such as the Malone and the Zee, which come in fabrics including printed silk and velvet. The designer hopes these will be worn in all different occasions.

“These pieces can take you from the office to a holiday party with ease,” Rebecca added.

The line will launch next month at A Pea in the Pod stores and selected Destination Maternity shops.

Rebecca is known for turning to her customers for advice when designing and showcasing her pieces. Before her fashion week show the turned to Instagram to get fans advice on which outfit should be showcased on a runway.

Her clothing also reflects her own outlook on style, previously describing her taste as “simple and anything easy to wear”, and that comfort comes first as she’s on her feet all day.
