Prince William and David Beckham launched a new wildlife crime campaign

OHMYGOSSIP — Britain’s Prince William and David Beckham launched a new wildlife crime campaign in London and William spoke passionately about the cause. The royal, who formed the United for Wildlife group, was joined by the former soccer star at an event at Google’s headquarters in London and spoke passionately about the campaign, which will help stigmatise the buying of ivory and rhino horn.

According to the Guardian newspaper, William said: “Our children should not live in a world without elephants, tigers, lions and rhinos. Enough is enough.

“It is time to choose between critically endangered species and the criminals who kill them for money.”

The campaign, which has been given the Twitter hashtag ‘#WhoseSideAreYouOn’ – is supported by a number of big sports stars, including Andy Murray, Lewis Hamilton, Rahul Dravid, Francois Pienaar and Yao Ming.

Prince William aims to highlight the deaths of tens of thousands of animals every year that feeds the illegal trade.

He said: “We knew we needed to do more to bring the illegal trade into the open.

“It thrives because it is hidden, often invisible, making it easy for criminals to expand their violent greed. We wanted to find a way to show the world what was happening.”
